Reset my GIAC chip to stock mode for

a dealer diagnostic visit later today. I'm leaving the car for a week for them to do warranty work and diagnose my oil consumption problem.

When I first "chipped" the car, the car was very new to me. 1 month old. I didn't really have a good feel for it. So the chipping felt OK but nothing too special. Now that I have had the car 6 months with the chip - when I set it back to stock - it is a dog now. Too slow; where is the power? HAHHAHAHAHHAHA

I can't live without the added HP and torque!! HAHAHHAHAHA The chip really is great - I never realised how great until I turned it off! HAHAHHAHAHAHA

What chips are you running? Everyone have GIAC? Any Upsolutes?
Im curious if the dealer will notice the chip anyway. Anyone have any bad experiences with that?

The first couple of times the dealer looked at my car for the oil burning issue they put it on the scope, but never said they saw anything. And I didn't reset the chip. This time, they have a special tool - so I got scared and decided to set it back to stock.

Teh GIAC flashing is pretty neat because you can get a 2X file that allows you to switch from 'performance' to 'stock' so that when you go to the dealer you go stock

Also it's done via the OBDII port so there's no hardware modifications associated with soldering/desoldering in hardware like the old days of "chipping".

i'm paying close attention to this thread, i was under the impression that no chip is undetectable and if the dealer probes they will find mods. Hope this is not the case, if you come out unscathed, i will be a chippin asap.

Curious, if someone switched back to stock before taking the car in for service, can't the dealer still view the ECU's recent history and see the elevated boost pressures? TIA

I think the only thing recorded as far as boost pressure is if the engine has hit the rev limiter. Of course you can hit the rev limiter with stock as well.
