So, my key fob battery died so I couldn't lock the car. Reached in to hit the button on the dash and it wouldn't work. I closed the door and then it would work. So I can lock myself in with the key on, that's it. Is that normal, or should that lock button always work?

 

you can always use the key to lock the doors from outside the car by turning it in the door lock.And yes lock button inside car is working correctly.

 

Never realised the key would lock both doors using it manually

 

Even cooler, put the key in the door lock, turn it to the left and hold it there and see what happens.

6+ freakin years i couldn't get that to happen and always thought it would. simple turn of the key up AND down no prob. bomb diggity!
