This would be the range when high back pressure would restrict your turbine speed.
Again, I'm no expert so I might be wrong.
Oh that could be. I have no experience with that sort of thing. Maybe a tuner can chime in.

Exhaust could be an issue . I also remember a while ago a guy on here had a built motor with the same turbos and was getting chocked up cause of the turbo inlets .he went with the blow through system and bam was good to go

Ok, next week I will pull the cat-back off again but run it with the MAF hooked up and see if that helps. I spoke to my tuner who confirmed although I tested with my cat-back off the fact that the MAF was disconnected could have affected the test. Thanks for the input guys.

..and I'm sure you know this, but do NOT boost your car with the MAF unplugged. The only reason to unplug the MAF is to go for a UN-boosted ride, to make sure it runs good, if it does, MAF is bad. MAF provides fueling (with help from O2's). No MAF, no fuel...

stock maf reading is max 1380 kg/hr..after that it is blind calibration

k24/20 are also chocked with a stock intake pipe system....

so 2 restrictive Problems with k24/20 system is...stock muffler system and stock intake pipe system

Stock intake pipes suck but not to the point of choking the car like this. My car had been dynoed at over 1.2bar on a drop exhaust and when I bypassed an EBC valve incorrectly (no N75) I saw 1.4 near instantly. I'm on hybrid K24 turbo. He has checked his exhaust already. He should be able to hit over 1bar for sure.

I figured I would get a boost bump (thinking back to the old supra TTs) when putting some straight pipes on my 996tt... I figured ATLEAST .2 bar!! And not a even a .1 bar increase! I was surprised that the DME could control boost that well even without the restriction of the cats!

UPDATE:

So based on recommendations from you guys and my tuner the plan was to remove the stock exhuast and see if that helped at all.

I didnt have time to do that yet but wanted to check all the check valves. So last night I removed the 3 check valves and they are all fine.

While putting the car back together I decided to test the car without the air filter and rear cover on the aire box to see if that would help.

Went for the test drive and now I see 1.2bar earlier in the rev range (where I used to see it only right before redline) and now see 1.3bar right before redline in 3rd gear. The car also felt like it pulled harder.

So I'm not sure if this helped the actual issue or it just masked it by allowing more air to be sucked in and the Turbos are able to work harder to reach higher boost.

Also based on this thread I made I think I am on the right track to solving this issue. At least I hope I am... https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ml#post4370590

UPDATE!!!!

Sorry guys, Life has been so crazy for the past few months I have not had a chance to get on the forums.

YES!! The car is now making commanded boost. To be honest Im not sure what fixed the problem but I think it is a combination of new diverters and stronger waste gates.

I just wanted to thank everyone here who supported me in trying to figure this out. You guys helped out a lot. This site is without a doubt the best I have ever been a part of.
