Chicago (and burbs) guys - Who wants to join with me?

I am today signing up with Performance Drivers Inc (PDI) for a very cool track package. Spanning from this coming April to October, capped at 100 members, there will be 10 track dates (all day long) at the longest road course and newest track - Autobahn, located in Joiliet, IL. Normally, it would cost 30,000 dollars to join, and I was reluctant do join before as I didn't know if I would get that much time into it. However, the cost for this annual package is $3,000.00 which includes track sessions only for the members x 10 dates. Details are at www.performancedriversinc.com

I met a couple of the founding members, and I know of many other members. More importantly, it seems to be a great group of people. I think some of us Chicagoland 6speeders should join as well. There will be road course training, and club access, shop access, and more.

Tim (colorchange), Lou, Markski, Marcus Frost, Orlando, Romal... You guys in?? I am...I need to unleash the potential of my garage queens (except the viper)

Saw an article about this in Motor Trend (or maybe Autoweek). It seems like the new thing... "the auto country club."

Sounds like a nice program PDI has using the Autobahn facility on that Monday schedule......definately for you fellas down there in Chi area....and the price is reasonable

For me up here in Mad town, RA (and some Blackhawk) continue to work out pretty good.
Between MB, BMW, and 2 Porsche clubs, & Tracktime, it's pretty easy to get in a half doz weekends through the season.

Ryan,

Thanks again for getting involved; you and the 6speed community are welcome to be a part of Performance Drivers Inc. As the premier social driving club, we are looking for good people with great attitudes. That’s the only qualification needed.

We are highly focused on having a great time with great people who have one thing in common driving. We are not make specific therefore we do not discriminate what type of car you drive.

All of our track days are on the full track configuration (3.56 miles and 21 turns). Continental breakfast and lunch will be served. Track ready rental cars will be available for members or guests. We have a full time mechanic on staff. Availability of indoor, on-track storage for cars, tires and tools etc.

For more details go to www.performancedriversinc.com. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or interest. shawn@performancedriversinc.com

At first, i must say that i am surprised that AutoBahn would allow this but after some thought, i guess that it works. It is no different than the motorcycle organizations that rent the track and sublet to members. Autobahn is a neat track that is quite wide and very technical. Unfortunately, they have pavement problems and are unsure as how to rectify. i would be interested in Performance Drivers' plan. how many cars out at one time for how long? for example: 25 cars out for 20 minute sessions? and what about motorcycles? i rode my bike more at autobahn, blackhawk and road america than i drove my porsche.. i would be interested but i don't want to do 10 events at that track, not when there are other good tracks in the area. (i get bored easily and like variety) .. maybe Performance Drivers should do a 3 track membership plan and have some motorcycle powered C and D sports race cars for rent... JR .. p.s. Shank, if you still have a Porsche, give Road America a whirl with the PCA, it's a blast..

guys this will be very fun indeed. If i can get another car set up for the track this season I will def. be in. I drove at the authobahn when shawn did the porsche exchange events last season and we had a great time. Not to mention one of my students had an Aston Martin DB9 which was fun to drive. This is a great bargain and the authobahn country club is a blast to drive on. It is probably one of the most techinical tracks in the area which makes it exciting each time.
