Right this issues with the M6 v Turbo crap is about to stop!!!

Don't know if you guys over there are familiar with Top Gear in the UK (biggest motoring programme! http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/thisweek/ ) Anyway, they tested the Aston Martin Vantage / 997 Carrera S / M6 against each other! (my eyes and ears were obviously on the M6 / 997 issue)

Yes the M6 is quick in a straight line, but they tested it on a country road against each other and it was over 6 seconds slower (the 997 lap was in 1min 29sec and the M6 was 1min 36) Now these cars were driven by some top driver they call the Stig, now as it's a new series, we don't know who Stig is, but it's a top racing driver who knows how to drive.

Yip! there's no denyin that the M5/M6 is fast in the straights but this was filmed in open country roads, I would say speeds from 60 to 120 (I actually missed a few minutes of the footage) and the 997 whipped it!

We have done couple runs yesterday night with E60 M5 vs Stock 996TT, E60 M5 vs RT10 viper. Do you really think M5 n M6 really fast at stright line??? Wait for I upload the video tonight !!

If you're talking about Top Gear's track test of the Turbo, the results were obtained on a wet track.

It's amazing how little that stuff matters once you leave the Edinburgh city limits. In the US, for the most part, the only thing that matters is where you went to college, and even that is a distant second to job experience.


(Note for 6speeders who are neither from St. Louis, nor Edinburgh: the Edinburgh Academy is a relatively posh private school just north of Edinburgh city center. Broughton is a state school not far away. Kids from these two schools generally regarded each other as coming from the other side of the tracks. In a textbook display of irony, StevO, the oik from Broughton drives the TT, while PMac, the toff from the Academy, is stuck with its puny little brother, the C4S.)
