Weighed the car this afternoon

Weighed the car this afternoon because I was curious. This was with a full tank of gas. Light weight options from stock... wheels, PCCB, wing, exhaust, pss9 coil overs (I assume lighter than stock but don't know for sure), rear windshield wiper and motor removed, GT3RS flywheel (hey that's like 10 lbs lol), GT2 slave conversion (heavier stock power assisted setup is removed), tool kit is out of car in the garage.

Funny at car shows people tell me these are sub 3000 lb cars and they're usually bone stock. Not even close.

I weighed mine at the track when i first got it, it was around 3330 or so without me and 1/4 tank of gas.
Its an 01 not many if any options, aftermarket exhaust and no spare.

Mine weighed in at 3607lbs with me (3402lbs w/o me) and less than 1/4 tank of gas.

My indy is building a 996Turbo POC GT1 spec car.

Waiting to see how much the car weighs without all that extra stuff.

Wow some of you have the weight down quite a bit. How much do you really save removing the rear seats? They look like two tiny pads that maybe weigh a couple lbs lol.

What front seats are you guys swapping to? I rather like the stock seats, pretty comfy but wouldn't hurt to know what options are out there. Also how do you deal with the airbag? I read that once you power the car up with the seat/airbag removed you get a light on the dash that requires going to the Porsche dealer. Can they just turn it off then or how does that work?

The seat backs is where the weight is, not the seat pads which are feather light. The rear seat backs and rear seat belts and buckles amount to close to 22lbs if I recall. I had my car weighed at last years PCA club race on certified scales and it came to 3177 with exactly 1/2 fuel, without driver. I have since removed the A/C system and the compressor, radiators, lines and fuel cooler all of which came exactly to 25lbs. I have also installed an Unobtainium welding exhaust that is 17lbs lighter than my previous RUF exhaust. That reduces the weight by another 42lbs which brings it to 3135 with half fuel. Next week I am replacing my Euro GT3 one piece buckets with kevlar Recaro Profi Spas which are another 15lbs lighter / pair than the GT3 seats. I will get an updated weight in two weeks at the 2015 RMR PCA club race but it should be right at 3125.

39/61% is right in the ballpark for stock cars. I'm at 42/58 with 3/4 tank

unplug the battery . wait about 10 minutes. then unbolt the seat belt latch from the seat. under the seat unplug the latch. then fish the wire attached to the latch from the seat. tie wrap it back to the factory harness and attach it to the new floor plate. plug the battery back in

theres no airbags but there are weight sensors. you have to retain those or you get a dash light that the dealer has to turn off
