I also have always had this annoying squeak/rattle which I thought was coming somewhere from in my dash. Then a few weeks back replaced my front top mounts with Elephant Racing camber plates and noise is gone. Guess my mounts were shot. Got more camber and fixed a long time annoyance. So for people who ask about more noise/vibration with monoballs, for me it turned out to be less.

Creacking Noise on my GT2

my GT2 is starting to develop a creak noise on the front suspension. I've been doing some research on the OEM camber plates and noticed the i can actually source the monoball bearing from PMNA (part no. 9R133177900) at a cost of approx. $150 each.

So im thinking, should i get an Aftermarket (e.g. Elephant racing, Stomski, etc) or just buy the OEM monoball bearing and replace?? What do you think?

Skip the aftermarket stuff. Spend the few extra bucks and replace it with the German Motorsport bearing. My guess is your creaking is not caused by the upper mount bearing. The OEM stuff is good. Check your drop links, sway bar bushings, etc...

In my case it was the upper strut mount that had failed and needed replacing. My bearings wear fine.

gclasse,

Are you referring to the monoball cartridge like I installed I the upper strut mount or the bearing?

Later, Steve

sanderhank is infamous around these parts
@MadWhip can you clarify which parts you are saying are bad? I have a clunk when I hit bumps really regardless of turning the wheel or temperature.
