Replacing the DVs is not meant to increase performance but rather reduce the possibility of them failing and thus reducing performance by leaking turbo boost...
You're preaching to the choir. Replacing good OEM valves with Baileys won't increase performance above stock.

But look at what you said; that failing valves reduce performance by leaking turbo boost. If there is "reduced performance" with bad valves, then replacing the bad valves with Baileys would "increase performance" back to the normal level.

My DVs were bad...they "honked". If they decreased my cars performance on anything but paper you could have fooled me, because I noticed no "increase or difference in performance" (i.e. back up to stock) with the Baileys installed. I'm talking seat of the pants difference.

I didn't have the Baileys installed as a "mod" to increase performance above stock, I replaced the valves because they were making noise, and I didn't want any degradation from stock performance. It turned out there wasn't any degradation in SOTP performance with the OEM "honking" valves.

OK, just got the car back with the new DV's replaced by Porsche under warranty...they are black so it is difficult to tell APPEAR to be metal as opposed to plastic....see the pic.

Prior to replacement, I could hit 1.0 bar (only mods are upsolute chip and a little tinkering with the stock exhaust), but it was a stretch and it would only hold for a second, and on the way home from the dealer tonight I hit 1.1 bar in 3rd gear and held it easily. Couldn't repeat due to traffic.

He has a modified ECU. Thus more boost.

Ya...oops....kinda embarrassing...anything I should beware of when cleaning the engine compartment, or can I just spray it down?

Prior to my Upsolute chip .7 was my max (possibly due to faulty DV's?), but now will sustain 1.2.

I thought that .7bar was max on the 6spds
I can reach .8 bar in my '02 six speed (stock except for Bailey's) if I go WOT in 3rd gear going up a hill, starting at ~2500 RPM.

Of course, with this cooler weather, I am typically only seeing .6bar as I am sure that the ECU is adjusting to the higher O2 count in the cold(er) air.
The boost is "above atmosphere" (up the limits of the turbo's ability at high altitudes) , so the colder weather just means a more dense charge before boost.
