you're right about them getting hot though - and i'd just driven about 3-4 miles! atleast they may have burned their greedy little hands

so seriously - would you guys spend $650 for OEM ones or $250-300 for look-a-likes with "quality stainless steel"???

TIA
IMO, depends on how much money you have to blow.

thanks to bob in NC, was able to locate a vendor (BW Motorsports) who had a pair of the OEM quad tips in stock and sold to me for a phenomenal price.

i'm going to have my local body shop do a couple of spot welds once installed to insure this crap doesn't happen again - it's hard not to go to HD

oh yeah - since i told my wife about this issue, it means that i don't have to dip into my super secret mod fund so i can still get the Upsolute upgrade

all's well that ends well, i think

Congrats on the tips!

Frank, if you get them welded on, make sure that you can take them back off w/out damage if you get a new exhaust and want to use the tips (personally, I find the stock tips to be restrictive as they help to negate the gains from an exhaust being that they are restrictive, but that's just me). Keep that in mind if you want to use them again, though.

Excellent. Now you need to go to HD regularly, park in the same spot and wait out of site with a baseball bat.

(edit: did I say that??? I meant video camera... )

so would you guys "risk it" and go for this set that's half-price of OEM. the ad says they are OEM but i called them and they said they just use that phrase to lead people to their ad from the search engine
I actually bought the same pipes and was very impressed with them. Especially at half the price of OEM tips....you won't be able to ell the differnce.

I would highly suggest NEVER buying from this seller on E-Bay. They state it is OEM just to get traffic when it is a lie, and they admit it? These are very deceptive and illegal business practices. Do you really want to buy anything from a seller with such ethics?
