Did the GT2 brackets on mine with a 305/30R19 PSS on a 19x12" and it did bupkis to eliminate the rubbing.

My only fix to get rid of the rubbing was having a new set of wheels made up with a 19x11" rear.

if you see this john, what would you recommend?

given i have NO "new" parts and would settle for ANY addl'l millimeters of clearance that might be bent/heatgunned or otherwise molded AWAY from the 96 turbo oem inner liner as it exists?

i won't count on you seeng this before i begin to mess with "it" very early sunday AM? and i surely have bigger fish to fry re: my calipers and brake parts, but if you do happen to happen upon it? any advice is, as always, welcomed.

Mark,
You can clearly see the TT bracket through the hole in the liner. The bracket is about 1/2" thick. If you install the short GT2 bracket you will gain this 1/2" of room down by the boost hose where you are rubbing. It's that simple. You can then heat the liner down there and pull it tight against the hose to maximize room. I don't have any rubbing issues even with the large tires I'm running in the rear. All my wheels are 12".

John - We're you running a 19x12+40 rear? I was always confused how you got it to work as I had the exact same 19x12+40 on my setup with the same tires and mine always rubbed on the H&R Springs as well as raised up 1" on coilovers.

Correct. I've run both a 19x12 et45 rear and a 18x12 et40 rear. Both have tires with 26.3 and 26.4" diameters. I have plenty of room, probably more than most as I have rear RSR LCAs which have adjustable solid T/A bushings in them. I have them clocked slightly forward which does create a little more room behind the tire, but it's minimal, maybe an extra 1/8" or so. Even with the non adjustable bushings I had about 1/4" of room between the tire and the liner. I'm not sure why you're having issues. The only thing I'm thinking is that the OEM factory rubber bushings (I'm assuming you have the stock parts) have a lot of slop in them and your whole wheel assembly moves around quite a bit under load thus causing the rubbing. I've run the same liners for the last 3 years with heavy track use and there is not a single rub mark on them.

john, given i'm facing this issue in a couple of hours and have NO NEW parts ( i.e. gt2 liners let alone even new 96t new ones..)

is there anything you think that can be gained at ALL from my attempting to bend it back as others have reported doing successfully?

or am i just wasting my time even trying?

i will look to see if you are able to provide me with any advice ( golden and incredibly helpful, as always.. THANK YOU! )
...

from my phone with heat gun in hand lol. my main focus of the day was/is the replacement of my calipers all around of course, but needless to say, that rear liner is going to be staring me in the face. the thought that i'll be re-installing my wheel with that rear liner as it looks/IS now, has me physically ill. the thought alone

thx for jumping in.. as always.

I have the exact same issue (same location) going with my car. More rubbing going on with the driver side. Took everything apart yesterday to investigate.

Will it work to just cut the tt piece, drill a hole and use the speed nut from the cut of piece?

Or is the angle different?

Ronny - Is that actually how your car is? You run without a fender liner and are still rubbing? Where is the inner fender liner?
