DIY: How to Replace Porsche Rear Deck Lid Strut 911 996 997 Turbo

Even if one Strut goes bad, the rear deck lid will drop/cannot hold the weight. So let's replace 2, why not. Cheap and easy to replace,

Time to replace it? 15min. Make sure someone is holding the lid. (wife or gf) best friend you can trust.

Price: $30-/+ shipped from Amazon, look for BOXI
Tools: small flat head screw driver

drivers side: just slide the screw driver and pop the clip, make sure you hold it the metal clip, we don't want to drop inside the engine bay. pop the strut out

take new strut and just snap it on. done, easy right?

now the passenger side:

behind the strut you have 2 small clips, just pop them open. move harness to the side. pop the clips, done.

ScubaSteve is infamous around these parts
Does anyone know the PN of the plastic clamp holding the wire bundle to the strut? Mine is missing this part and I want to replace it but can’t find it in any manual.
