997TT or Gallardo?
997TT or Gallardo?
Just wondering what you guys' opinions might be as I'm thinking of changing my weekend car soon? Originally I had my heart set on waiting for the next new generation of TT, but from what I've seen and heard lately (styling & performance figures) on the new TT...the Gallardo is starting to sound more and more attractive! Especially a low-mileage G will probably be the same or even slightly less than what the new TT will cost. And the obvious reason that I want to make a decision soon instead of wait till the new TT comes out is because I don't want to see the value of my current TT continues to depreciate.
TIA
Peter

I'm willing to bet that the 997TT will have unexpectedly good performance numbers, but even with that, stock for stock, the Gallardo looks more attractive and will be about even performance-wise (give or take).
If you like to mod, though...

If you read my sig then you should know that I have the mod bug!
However, this time I think I'll try to keep my next ride as stock as possible...that's why I'd consider the G.No doubt the 997TT will probably come out with some unexpectedly good performance numbers, but stock for stock, it's also hard to pass on the G in terms of the overall performance and looks.
if u expect to drive alot... get the TT... if u just need a exotic weekend car.... get the G.

u can try something different then come back later for Porsche. wait for the 2nd or even 3rd year round production.

Arling,
This is also one of the main concerns I have...the reliability issue with the first generation models.

This will be just be a weekend toy...that's why the G is looking very attractive!
I will take the G now, wait 2 years for the company developed the mod for the 997TT, than come back Porsche family!
If you trade your highly mod. 996TT to stock 997TT, you will feel downgrade at perforamce point of view and you won't find much to impove the 997TT at the 1st year. For the G is different story, you Stage 3 TT can take the G for sure, but it was not only for speed, the look, sound were worth to try!!
