Is my passenger side front axle popped out?

I just completed installing b8 struts and springs. I'm worried that my passenger side front axle is not in all the way. On the driver side, it seems like it is more pushed in then the passenger side.

I can't seem to push it any further and everything seem to be moving freely. Do I need to worry or is this how it suppose to be, and gets more pushed in once the car is off the jacks and driving?

Best pic I can take, you can see the orange ring much more on the passenger side then driver side.

Hard to tell in the pic...I'd get under there and have a closer look. I believe when you get it seated right it should make a click/or pop into place. (someone correct me if I'm wrong) When I installed my suspension I removed the allen bolts rather than popping the stubs out

Just rotate the axle slightly as you push in. The axle will re-seat.

I think it is good. Took the car for a spin and everything seems fine. I was pushing and rotating it as much as I could when the wheel was off. Maybe the passenger side axle seats slightly different then driver side?

Stick your hand in there and feel the difference in the space between the hub and the case. If I remember correctly they are exactly the same between the passenger and drivers side. If not, make sure the hub is going in straight and push hard.

I did that and seems the driver side is pushed in more. From driver side I can't see the orange seal at all with on passenger I can see it (on the pic above). I was thinking since the car was up and the suspension sag cause it to be out a little.

I'll give it another try tomorrow. But I was pushing and twisting pretty hard and just would not go any farther.

The axle is either in or it's out. If suspension droop is making the axle come out some then it's out. It sounds like it's out from your description.

If it looks like it's sitting straight then you could try using a piece of wood to sit against the inner hub and extend out the car so you can tap it in with a hammer.

I'll give it another shot later. It looks like it is sitting straight. I took if for a test drive and everything seems to be working fine, no additional noise as if something was not sitting right. Is suppose to go in straight, no special twist then push type mechanism? Meaning forcing it in with a hammer won't break anything?

OK, a quick update.

The axle was not in all the way. Took the wheel off again, pulled back the axle which came back about an 1", then as hard as I could just pushed it in again. Axle went in about 2" this time. It is sitting right up against that orange seal like driver side.

So my suspension install went pretty smoothly minus the axle not popping in all the way first time around.

If/when I have to do it all over again, I'll take off the allen bolts from of from the axle instead of the route I took.
