Did this with my 42k mile mounts that looked a bit more worn than the OPs pictures. Was trying it for kicks as I had nothing to lose as I could easily order a 997 one if it didn't work to my expectations. It feels great!
For those how look for alternative solutions / have doubt/hesitant to try sth. I am sharing my "solution":
On my 02 Carrera the trans mount blew during a recent AX event. Still good for daily drive, but highway curved driveup's are no fun anymore. I thought there must be a quick and dirty fix to stiffen the bearing w/o car lift or even removing the trans mount (sth. between getting from office and just before dinner... ).
Planned to at least remove the mount to have a look what can be done, but it turned out that even if I wanted to replace the mount I would have to wait until the next engine out since LHS bolt going from Mount into Transmission was seized and would require more space efforts to remove than I can afford with only 10 inch the car up in the rear. By then I knew that the mount hub was entirely detatched from the mounting body (mount completely destroyed) , and that the only true solution I considered spending money on would have been the Renn-line bushings through pelican, but which would have been at least 2 days away to get in, and I am not a person with patience....
However, to my attention came hotmelt gluestix along with a glue-gun from JOANN ( which includes 8 glue stix) in my wife's craft toolbox a few days before...The glue sticks did feel about the right (stiffer than Silicone rubber, and w/o measuring my guess is somewhere several-10 MPa storage modulus ). Laying under the car I filled the space between metal and hub of the mount as much as I could reach (from inside and outside). It looks ugly, yet I was done within less than one hour from lifting the car until ready for a spin.
During the test drive I notice insignificantly more average noise level, and there are no nasty sounds anymore during hard acceleration in tight turns. I tortured the car about 30 min and measured temperature (laser thermometer, pointed to mount just after driving ) - to figure not to exceed 40 deg C - hence no issues with softening by heat for this material.
Having invested 9.99 USD in a set of glue gun sticks, I would not hesitate to repeat if this breaks anytime within the next 1k miles or so. I believe my "solution" is very rough , yet has potential to be lasting with little more care.
