Dual fuel pump, Fuel line plumbing.

I am in the middle of my fuel pump setup from SRM. I have been speaking with a few people in regards to plumbing the fuel lines on a dual pump set up. I am interested to see how everyone else has done it for reference. Right now i am going to go two -6 fuel feed lines out of the fuel tank hat till about the front of the tranny there i will merge those two line with a AN Y splitter into a -8 inline fuel filter and then come out of the filter with a y splitter again into two -6 lines that feed the rails. ow about you guys? TIA

couldn't you just run two small 6an filters and bypass all the Y-step-up/step-down...

no need to go an- 8 if all the other lines are an-6. do you have 3 an fittings in the srm top hat? 2 feed 1 return? are you running a external fpr? i have a weldon if you need one.

you could run it as 2 separete systems basically crossover to the fpr the return from the for at the bottom.

I run the srm setup exactly how you laid out. 2 -6an that join with a y fitting at the front above the front diff. Tjen 8an to the rear. I run an 8an filter at the transmission the 8am up to a y that splits and feeds both rails individually with 6an. Then 6an out of the rails to the fuel reg. Then 6an all the way back to the tank.

You can get the y fittings that are 2 -6an inlet with 8an out. So not need to step up and step down.

Benifit is one fuel filter, and then by splitting to both fuel rails you half the effect flow through each rail. This the right way to do it.

Ah I need to add a check valve to my setup!! Thanks for the reminder John! I was going to run a 8an check valve either after or before my fuel filter.

FYI, I Y my fuel pumps in the in the fuel tank and run a single 8an line up to the engine where I Y into dual 6an lines to the fuel rails, then Y it into a single 6an line into the FPR and single 8an return. Lol even and 'easy' setup like my current setup is hard.

If I had to do it again...I would run a single 8an feed to the one side of the rail...then run a 6an cross-over line to the other rail and then a single 6an return line from the rail to the FPR. 1 feed line in, 1 return line out.

I run an 8an right before the fuel filter, and also a 6an on the main fuel line in the tank after the jet pumps. Probably not required but my concern was that I didn't want the fuel from the second pump flowing back to the jets.

How beneficial would it be to run a longer length of the -8, I was going to split it near the front of the transmission and split it again about 18 inches after the filter. Would splitting the two -6 lines closer to the front of the car/ fuel tank and running the system with a long length of -8 be beneficial for flow?

if your starting with an-6 theres no need to go to an-8 at all. simply run an-6 to the motor add an inline filter and check valve were you want, (mine is right next to the tank since im rwd and the check valve is at the motor just before the y split. keep it simple and you will have less issues.

I have dual -6 lines coming off each pump I would need two -6 filters also. If i did that staging the pumps should not be done it would seem to me. I am waiting on a few more parts still and then this car gets put all back together. I guess i need to make a decision even sooner then when i made this thread. Still trying to decide what is the best route

I would do it that way. Just pick up two 6AN filters. You could still stage the pumps just make sure to put check valves inline with each pump.
