Pumping fuel failure

Hey guys!

So heres my issue pretty much i try to pump gas into the car and it just shoots the gas right back at me. I try giving the car gas slowly and i mean slowly and after a little bit it'll shoot it right back at me. Theres not CEL on. No leaks that i can see when i look at the car.

Now I've had rats in my garage, which might be the issue but i haven't seen anything like leaks. I haven't followed the fuel line through but i did stick a wire through and it was going the whole way until i believe the line turns. Other than that I've never had this issue before and would like to ask our opinion before i decide to take it into the shop. Im pretty handy so anyone have any recommendations before i either take it to the shop or take the whole under panel out?

Thanks so much
Kris

Had this happen one time to me. Here's the step.....

Put the gas nozzle reverse so its upside down that should take care of it. I forgot why this happens.

Sounds like your fuel tank vent has become inoperative. Could be from the rodent nibbling a wire into. There is a magnetic switch on the side of the filler neck that activates when the fuel nozzle is inserted. The magnetic switch sends power to a vent valve that vents the tank and allows for quicker refueling. If you take a screw driver and insert into filler and push small door open you should be able to hear a very faint click of the vent valve. Possible fault causes are blown fuse, faulty vent valve, faulty magnetic switch, rodent ate your wiring..lol
