Car starts. 3 sec after dies
Hey guys after a week of not driving i jumped in the car to pickup our son from school.
Car cranked. Kidda funny maybe not. But while shifting into 2nd stubble a bit. No big deal im thinknig. . I down shifted from 4th to 3rs and same. A bit of stall. So im like maybe dirty maf. I got to parking lot turn the car off. Pickedup son got into the car. Cranked the car and it died 3sec after. I added gas. New battery. Nothing same thing, fuel filter i replaced a year ago. Any ideas? Im thinking to start messing around with fuel pump.

Also when you start and hit gas rigjt away. It dies. Getting the car towed. Been waiting for 4 hours. First towing came with non flat bed. I told the guy not to touch my car. Ugh what a monday
Agree with BLKMGK.
More specifically one of the siphon jet hoses is not working and the engine has run out of fuel, at around 1/2 tank, because the non-working siphon jet won't pull fuel out of its basin. The other working siphon jet has of course emptied its basin of fuel.
Good for you in refusing to let the 1st tow truck operator touch your car. Had he tried to tow the car the front diff/viscous coupling would have been ruined in no time.
You have learned the hard way, but to others whenever you call a tow truck be sure to emphasize that a flat bed tow truck is required. The car can't be towed on either axle alone.
'course, this doesn't mean that the tow truck dispatcher will not make a mistake -- as happened to me one time -- and send out an older style truck with a hook. The operator was upset a bit but I assured him I had clearly specified a flat bed truck was needed and the dispatcher assured me she would see that one would be on its way to me.

I had a misfire once. Car ran like crap and would stall and would not run on all cylinders. A bottle of Heet helped. It turned out to be bad gas, even though it was freshly filled and from shell.
I swapped coils and replaced plugs.
Don't rule out bad rule either. Do you have any CEL?

(So acted like running out of gas really), i was half a block from daycare
so im thinking maybe the hose Busted inside the tank and whatever gas was
in the lines, just to make it to the parking lot and park it.
I added more gas 3-4 gal (thinking maybe! i was out of gas) i added new battery, since the old 5 year old battery was showing 35% of life left.
Car started, better than before... but dies after 3-5 sec....

- pretty much anything that will require engine drop.i'm going to go over the fuses first,~ See if the fuel pump kicks, pull the fuel pump and inspect it. I think (dead fuel pump or busted hose) Also I'm going to test the gas, than clean the maf and tb but that's after the car starts... I may have time tomorrow or entire Friday to dig, i'll keep you guys posted.

1. pump fuse
2. pump relay
3. see if the fuel pump primes (Get power), do pressure test. (if it does)
4. taking the pump out to inspect the (octopus)
if the car starts for few sec and dies, i dont think fuel pump is dead. (busted hose)
tomorrow is a big day....fingers crossed
