Take a look at my 996tt log?

Hey All,

I recently made a post about my 996tt having a batch of bad gas in it that was giving me 6 to 7 counts of knock and pulling timing. I've since siphoned that gas out and been running on 2 fresh tanks of 100 octane to clean all that old crap out. I warmed the car up last night and made a 3rd gear pull log. There are still a few counts of knock, -1.5. I'm not sure if that is a trivial amount to be expected, or something to be concerned about. I'm also not much of a tuner myself so would love some of your guys advice/opinions on my numbers.

Thanks!

Doug

You need to log FRA2 on both banks to see what the car is doing. If its 1 thens its good but if it drops it is not good. Sounds like your octane is not high enough also your ignition angle is at 10.5 from 4k to 5k rpm never seen it flat like that.

I'll have to log FRA2 on both banks on another pull thanks. I noticed that the ignition angle is stuck at 10.5 after that first count of knock, is that what "pulling timing" looks like in a log?

Add some fuel here:

those knock counts aren't too bad (typical timing map for 996tt that I've seen)..maybe take a tiny bit timing out...2 deg maybe. STFT are adding ~10% in some places...add 10% fuel there if you can.

Thanks so much for this info 03Evo. I'm definitely not confident enough to try and adjust maps on my own, but I'm hoping to gather enough information and find a tuner to help me with it in my area.
