Clutch slave options

I'm thinking of upgrading my clutch slave and can't decide if I should go with the upgraded bbi slave, or just go with the gt2 conversion. Both look to be very good options, but unsure of the pro/cons of each in comparison.

if your dropping the trans the oem setup is the best cheapest way to go.

I had the trans done...so had CMS machine for the OEM GT2 setup. It's going in this week. Had I not done the trans and had the opportunity to get the machining work done, I would have gone the BBI setup. I prefer the idea of an OEM setup however.

Hope I am pleased with the results.

Even thought the OEM slave is prone to failure?

I went with the OEM GT2 setup. Pedal requires more effort but you do get used to it. This setup provides a much more consistent engagement. I would not switch back.

What about for those of us without people locally that can drill/tap and do the full GT2 conversion? Would the BBi be the better option for a local Porsche dealer to install during the clutch/coolant pinning engine out?

Agreed. My local dealer had no idea about any upgrade options. They couldn't even quote me a price to do the work...

You need to find a good indie. In general, dealerships to like to install mods...

So far I've done everything myself with a neighbor and a lift... By the time my accumulator fails again, maybe I'll drop the tranny myself

if the trans is out the oem gt2 mod is a 2 on a 10 scale. look inside the bellhousing. the reinforced points for the slave studs are already there.
simply line the slave up on the boss and mark the holes. 1" drilled deep hole. center between and drill a 3/4" hole. insert the studs. inside the bellhousing mount the clutch fork. it will lightly hit the side of the bellhousing. take a dremel and clearance the side of the bellhousing so the fork moves smoothly. for the trans thats it! m/c p/s unit mods are simply easy to do (if your a contortionist!!)

I gave my indie a link to the thread on 6SO where the DIY is posted to do the tap & drill mod. I bought the all the parts and told him to install as instructed. You would think the dealer could do the same - after all - the parts were all OEM Porsche parts. I'm pretty sure my dealer would have done it - I just didn't want to pay that much.
