Loss of power on track today

I was at Watkins glen this weekend, I was coming out of turn one entering the esses, suddenly under mid throttle my engine cut all power and dropped to idle. I had to go 4 off into the grass to be safe. I shut off the car and restarted, and it was completely normal the rest of the weekend. I had a code that said something about fuel, but in my frantic state sitting in the grass on track I accidentally deleted the code as the flagger was sending me back on track.

Any ideas? I'd like to prevent this from occurring again.

You encountered this in the start of the event and then it went away for the rest of your time there right ? Same thing happened to me same place and was fine after that. Sometimes when a injector hic cups this happens. Sends the ecu into a frenzy. This only ever happened to me once. I only use the care on the track and my car is always serviced before i go out. This happened right after plugs and coils new fuel filter. I also asked why it went into fail safe. I'm told it happens and my car only has 25 k on it. Never happened sense. Perhaps keep an eye on it.
Do you have new plugs and coils ?

No. I did new everything (plugs, coils, filters) at about 13k miles, it's at 18k now. No recurring codes, ran perfect the rest of the weekend all the way to redline...

sounds like a fuel pressure issue, loss of it and bam, dead

check fuel pump, relays, etc.

mine went on my 996 with (at the time, 14k miles on her), so they just go.

markski tuned on his flow matched injectors... oem pump. I had my tune dialed back to 1bar on track. The rest of the weekend it ran great all the way to redline, so I assume if it was a pump issue it would come back. My best guess is MAF sensor got crazy and threw my car into limp. I'm not sure what else goes away with a reboot.

yea the pump will start to whine then die or just die. sounds like a MAF, i'd clean it, dry it and give it another go. Maybe a new one if need be. Keep us updated
