Aim performance Transmission?

Howdy all,
I know AIM is a well known shop for 996 turbo cars, so i figured here would be the best place to ask.

I have a higher mile 993TT that needs some gearbox work. Mostly just synchros and maybe a few bearings. I'd prefer not to ship such an expensive gearbox, so I'm looking for local options in NJ. I read that AIM has a dedicated gearbox rebuilder, but I also haven't heard it mentioned as an option, as most people go to CMS or Copans.

So, does anyone have any experience with AIM gearbox work? If so, can you describe how it went and how reasonable the pricing was?

If anyone else has a local option, that would be great as well.

Thanks.

I would go to Protosport North Jersey. They definitely have more experience with 993 TT. They been building them way before Aim was around. I'm not saying that Aim is bad there not. They build some crazy HP cars. Speak to John or Paul Great guys at Protosport.

I used protosport when i first got my car a decade ago but decided to just diy everything. I spose I could reach out although I'm not sure if they do transmission rebuilds or outsource. I'm assuming they would prefer that I just bring them the car also. Either way, its an option and I can check with them. Thanks for the opinion.

I been using them for the last 25 years. No complaints. They built this for me.

Also heard great things about Second Gear Performance for Porsche transmission work. Although I personally don't have any experience with them yet.

I had AIM do my car. They do great work.I can’t speak on transmissions, but with the track record they have with big power cars, they more than likely will meet or exceed your expectations.
