I have been using Rennlist since before it was named that. In the old days it covered all models in a sort of long running chat format and in many ways it was as fun as it is now. I have also been a "frequent lurker" on 6speedonline since it started up after a confrontation with another board (not Rennlist).

Both have their points and there are pluses and minuses to each. I'd hate to loose the ability to read or post at either site personally.

K24 "Madness" is aptly named in my opinion. He was extremely confrontational and aggressive in his posts and re-posts with Kevin on Rennlist. I'd have grave thoughts about dealing with anyone who was so strident..........what would happen if YOU ever had a difference of opinion with him? Factual or not, performance oriented or not, backed up by dyno charts or not, he was not a happy camper there and was tireless at tossing messages back in to continue an argument flow. Unneeded.

I really do not think John D. is arbitrary after many years of observing him. Nor do I think the 6speed dudes are arbitrary after some time observing them. I think that K24 "Madness" could still be there on Rennlist whether he was promoting a sponsor or not if he had kept the vitriol under control. I know I have mentioned non-sponsors on both boards myself with no consequences.

How surprised should we be that the boards favor thier sponsors? Like, dude hello! Just read everything with a grain of the ol' caveat emptor and judge not only the product but the character of who you'll be doing business with....

GEEEZ, I got the desease. This post has run on too long. Admin....KILL this message string before it's too late....;>)

I think this really says it all. Some posts were interesting and helpfull but the ongoing vendetta aimed at Kevin was unfair and unwarrented.Worth noting- he was not banned for that reason - but for continuing breaches of the guidelines, conditions that everybody is bound by. It is not about free speech but the aim of commercial gain.I like to see all the different ideas expressed generally speaking ,as it broadens my understanding of the issues and hearing people with expertise expand on technical issues is to all our benefit. To have someone trying to ambush you everytime you offer a highly professsional advice or opinion - especially when the "expertise" of the critic is questionable is a waste of all our time.

Understand what your saying! but it is PM (Private!) and there is certain discussions/talk/business/non-related/etc that should not be on the boards. this is why we PM each other.

I think the whole issue should be dropped before others start fallin' out with each other, and agree that we should move on!

K24 does seem to be relentless at getting his point across. Which he did. Successfully. 5 or 6 times. In this thread alone.

You mean points don't you! The ones i got were

1. He got banned for bad behaviour

2. He has a vendetta against Kevin

3. His credibility is suspect

4. Caveat Emptor, if you do Business with him. He may also distort his peerformance claims.

5. Kevin seems like a reasonable (classy and very knowledgeable guy)

Amen to that. Speaking for Porsche enthusiasts, Kevin has been and continues to be an absolute asset to all of us, whether or not you own his turbos (and I don't). His reputation does not deserve tarnishing by one aggreieved and particularly obnoxious individual.

I agree 100%. I even go as far as to say that Kevin is the most knowledgeable person on RL regarding Porsche Turbos. I don't think anyone that knows him would deny that fact. His expert advices are often times taken for granted by board members. His products are used by many tuners here and abroad but yet they rarely given him the credit he deserved.

I personally had Kevins stage 5s.. and they were the best NO lag turbos for sure...
K24 madness, on the other hand, has a really good set up utilizing the k24s as well. his is I believe a k24/gt35...
They both were very helpful to me and I wish they would make up.

Mark,
that is well said. I have made comment on K-Madness earlier in the thread .I have found his comments interesting from someone that clearly has some technical understanding and his contributions were very helpfull but his continuing persistent sniping at Kevin served no usefull purpose but it was the contravention of fundamental rules that created the situation. Those same rules apply here. Instead of trying for mayrterdom why not try apologising and agreeing to mend his ways ,serving time on the bench and seek re-inclusion.From my understanding he does not have a commercial barrow as such to push so that should not impede his re inclusion.

I think it would be awsome if this thread (and the one on rennlist) would be deleted and everybody went on about their business. This issue will obviously not be resolved here.

This topic is pretty funny. I was informally banned on Rennlist since I got into a spat with one of their sponsors. A lot of people shared my opinion and knew that the guy was a reckless ******* and a danger to the public, but this was clearly not as important as getting sponsorship dollars. Oh well. Dunkle clearly has his "favorites" and the politics within that community are more corrupt than sub-Sahara Africa.

Too bad, because I have met some of my closest friends from Rennlist.

We all have our biases and people are human, mistakes are made (and corrected), but bad behaviour is inexcusable. PM's are private and have to stay that way.

I like this site, but it caters to those who are more into mods (IMO), Rennlist has a different audience, but there is really little to complain about there. All in all, treatment is quite even handed.

On the merits of K24 Madness's posts here (by his own recounting) it seems that he was fairly treated (and banned) over on Rennlist.

Based upon his posts and revelations on this post I suspect his business ethics and judgement, but then "caveat emptor", and to each his own judgement.

He chose to use a public forum to forward a personal agenda, disparage and attack others' credibility, at the same time undermining his own by distorting the facts, and therefore he should deal with the consequences.

Run a mile (IMO)!
