Any tips on installing the EVO intake?

Hey guys, just picked up an EVO intake for my car. Any tips (other than following the instructions) in terms of the install process? Diconnect the battery? TIA!

I thought the MAF issues have been resolved with the latest update to the design of the system? I just ordered this intake so i hope I'll have no issues.

It took me about 30 minutes to install it. No problems except the filter was a little tight. Check to make sure it has a drain hole. It's supposed to, but mine didn't.

Somebody in the past had crushed one of their hoses when they did the install, and mde the car freak out, just be careful, and you should be good to go. Also, in the past (not sure it is as much a problem now), people took the filter out the night or two before the install & put it over newspaper to soak up the excess oil.

I am sure that you have already seen them online, but we have detailed install instructions for that kit. If you follow those, you will have no problems. The kit is very easy to install and you should have no problems. If you do, please give me a call, I wrote the instructions so I will be able to help you out. Thanks...

Nate

Where should the drain hole be? Under the filter or on the other side?

I believe that they are putting the water drain holes below where the filter resides. Where are the holes on your kit?

I will check when I get home....is it a good idea to disconnect the battery to allow the ECU to reset?

You shouldn't have to do that, I know that some customers always disconnect their battery to clear adaptations, but I really don't know if it is going to make a difference.
