Question on Quote
I just got this quote for a Clear Bra. This isi a Brand called Xpel. Does this sound expensive? Just want to check with you guys, Also does anyone have exp. with this product? I would be very pissed if this starts to turn yellow or looks like orange peel.
Any comments, suggestions or advise would be appreciated.
Thanks

I had xpel put on my car and I was NOT happy with it. The overall charge was around $600 for the same kit you are installing. The material itself is ok, but make sure you find an experienced installer who will show you examples of his work.
The 911 turbo is rated a "5" on the difficulty scale which is the hardest install rating. Don't let an amateur touch it !
I heard there is an installer in Atlanta that custom cuts his paint protection film and wraps the edges around panel edges giving an unbelievable and invisible finish. That is the type of installer you should look for and pay extra for if needed.

xpel, 3M and stongard are the same stuff...
I had mine removed (no damage thankfully, and will get a better install done)

The price is right on, but if I were you, I'd get Stongard instead. It's basically the same 3M material (they all use the same stuff), but the cut is better and gives better coverage. I had it on my C2 and now have it on my Turbo, but I only did the front bumper this time.
The price is not super great, but it's not bad either. It's just about average.
The material won't yellow. If it's installed well, you'll love it. Stongard gives a lifetime warranty if installed by a certified installer.
Mine had to be applied twice, but it didn't cost me any more. Make sure they agree that if the installation is not satisfactory, they'll do it again at no extra charge.

I would agree with the other posts here, installation is critical. I just had the 3M product installed and I think it looks great. The installer here in the Northwest does a custom cut so it is not the 3M standard cut as I understand it. This install wraps around the edges of the hood and some other areas. A little more difficult to install but ends up doing better in the long run. My install ran $725.
I have the clear bra on all my vehicles. My daily driver is white and the clear bra does show a slight yellow tint... though I never wash it and it could just be dirt.
I got all my vehicles done at Ultrashield in Ft. Myers. They did the GT3 for ~$500 including the hood, bumper, mirrors, and above the headlights. Finding a good installer is key, especialy with the curves of the 996 body. In fact, one of their training bumpers is from a Boxster/996.

Orlando-
I have a clear bra product on my car. They all use the same 8mm 3M product but differ on the cut of the kits. Try to find the best kit. Stay away from Invisishield (kits look like crap). I would either use Stonegard or Xpel.
The best would be to find someone who can custom cut the job and fully wrap the car properly. If you find someone good let me know as I need someone for my new Techart Type II bumper that being installed this week.
Attached below are links to a few clear bra products sites I know of.
