which is it bugs or tar that you trying to remove?
tar, I don;'t have a recommendation, bugs however, the very best IMO is a towel soaked in luke warm water and let set on the bugs for 10 - 15 minutes.

msindi,

I believe anything but soaking in warm water would require re waxing that area.

Good wax job. Got some tar behind the passenger side wheels, came off with the wash mit with only a little pressure.

Porsche makes a good Bug remover, which i would probablly try first. WD40 is a bit harsh but usually works as well. For stubborn bugs, and sap use a clay bar.

I don't know why everyone always wants to use some chemical and scrub the **** out of the spot to get bugs off when all it takes is a luke warm (hell it can even be cold) water soaked towel layed over the area and let the bugs rehydrate. They slide right off, no scrubbing, no rubbing, no swirl marks, no nuthin (if you let them soak long enough) - really...
Having said that.. I also just tried Detailer708's trick with the clay, and I was pleasantly surprised that it worked extremely fast and completely.
So, if I am washing the entire car, I will still use the soaked towel routine. If just removing a few bugs between washes, clay it is!
Good tip detailer!

Hey Doug...no problem..i am around this all the time...most of the exotic cars that i see have tons of bugs on them from being so low..one thing..if you clay something, them after you wash it you need to atleast wax that part!
