6speedonline's official 60-130, 1/4 Mile, and Standing Mile list
Yes, the said sacrificial lamb will be there... gotta bring some Ford blue collar there keep you guys honest

Ill be using stock rims w/ dr's for the event (28" drag radials will help w/ both 1/4 and 60-130... AND stop alot better than 'skinnies', drop my front another 1/2inch... need all help I can get... make sure I can get to the 130 in time to...( see below )
Fabbing up a lower facia grille w/ front brake ducts to make sure I can STOP
and air splitter. Will be there... cant miss the GTR/GT2 throwdown

First graph is of the Cobra in question running a 6.69 on a fairly flat road. He also had a 7.07 run. I'm thinking this car is making closer to 700 rwhp.
Second we have a '95 Mustang GT with a Novi 2000 blower making 430 rwhp that ran a 11.55 with 1-shift.
Nice job, guys.

Got the runs, and I just have to say that there is absolutely no way that Cobra is only making 580 rwhp....that is, unless it's a stripped out race car that weighs under 3000 lbs.

There is a lot more to 60-130's than just power.
Stock Cobra Coupes weigh around 3700 without the driver. They aren't nearly as aerodynamic as a 996TT and the gearing isn't nearly as good. It takes aconsiderably more power for these cars to run as fast a 996TT, assuming they are stock weight and gearing. It's absolutely not an apples to apples comparison wrt HP.
As I assumed could be inferred from my smiley's above, I was mostly joking when I said I didn't believe it....but the truth is, it is 'difficult' to believe it's only making 580. Possible? Sure. But, I'm guessing that if this Cobra is truly only making 580 rwhp then it has probably been lightened considerably, geared, and is running some very sticky tires.
Or...he used a 100 shot and was actually making closer to 700 at the time of the run which would make more sense.

Look at it another way. The Cobra is only making 580 rwhp and the 95 GT is making 430 rwhp. The '95 GT only weighs 3400ish lbs, but ran a 11.55. A car that weighs almost 300 lbs more, making only 150 more rwhp is running almost 5 seconds quicker??

Fair enough. The only reason I said that was because my car went 6.61 when I was 530ish awhp, 3565lbs with me. I just guessed a car a couple/few hundy heavier and making 50-70 more whp could easily run that number...I know weight reduction changes everything though...if that's what happened here...congrats to the lucky owner of a very fast Mustang!!!

I recently posted data from a 750 rwhp Kenne Bell Shelby GT500 (3,900 lbs) that went 7.75 with 1-shift.
KPG's 3800 lb 996TT making 780 awhp went 5.56. A 2.2 second difference. Subtract 30 whp from KPG's car and add 150 lbs to it and I'll bet it will still hit mid 6's.
So it seems the gearing and aero (or lackthereof) of the Shelby are costing it *at least* a full second compared to a TT.

Scott we ran my buddies 03 cobra convertible 60-130 that make 470rwhp on a good day. Full weight about 3900 pounds, the car on a flat road ran 9.0 on a 60 degree day. So with a lighter car and 110rwhp more I could see a 7.5 maybe alittle better but a 6.61 is way to hard to believe with that kind of power.
LOL, Paulie, I got you all flustered! It is true that your highly modified GT2 spanked a stock GT-R on the highway...no doubt. Having said that, I like the idea presented, I would like to hand you your *** in the 1/4 mile from a dig and then we can go from 60-130...only rule, we both run pump gas. How about that big boy?
Peter
Peter
scott, thanks for posting the runs. i will have a good amount more runs from a variety of cars in the area. the 03 cobra is actually full weight. he has an empty truck but also had a cage. the dyno here reads very low, it is a land and sea dynomite dyno.
Peter I will never run you from a dig, won't happen. If I wanted a drag car I would go buy a beater Mustang & put a decent motor in it & spank most everyone. I do not get flustered about car times,I'm just stirring the pot. I believe you have to hand Sean his *** to him first.

yea the dyno we have here reads extremely low. im guessing he is close to 700whp. he went 138mph in the 1/4. car runs extremely strong.
