My TT is injured!!!

Hey Guys...

Got into a pretty serious accident with my TT today...

Luckly, I'm OK (Thank God and the TT for keeping me safe!), but my TT is quite injured...

Have a look:

Airbag's Depoloyed

Just one note...they really saved my life! If it weren't for the bags, I would might have slammed my head into the steering wheel

Just some details...I was wearing 3 point belts.

I just turned the corner after getting some coffee and started to accelerate (btw, I was not speeding by any means), and coming over a blind crest...I clear the crest and see a car in the middle of the intersection. She sees me coming down the hill and all of a sudden just panics and stops in the middle. I slammed on the brakes. It was too late...by then, I just hung on and prayed to god. Man...I felt like a crash test dummy.

Any advice from someone who has experience or expertise...

As much as I love my car, I don't think I could ever accept the car back, even if it's fixed by the best...no way will it drive the same after this.

How can I fight to get a salvage title? From what I understand, the cost of repairs will have to exceed the "fair market value" in order to declare the car a salvage title...

Chris,

Sorry to hear! Good thing you are ok! Prayed to God!

p.s. If the damages cost more than 70% value of your car, insurance should total your car right there!

Thanks for the kind words HKE...

This is one situation the decline value of the TT may come into my favor... We'll see what the estimate comes out to tomorrow...

Chris...
thank god u're ok...
wish you luck... but seriously... I don't think with this level of damage... u'll get a total value from insurance...my frd's c32 had about the same damage as you do... but a bit better...
look as though only the bodykit, radiator, some hose... light ...are damaged...and the hood with fender...
it's around 20-25000 repair or less I believe.... my frd's c32 is around 10,000 repair...with similar damage...
=_=" sigh... why can't porsche engine be at the front... or else u'll total ur car for sure...

Thanks for the support guys!!!

Kevin...
I think the major damage is in the frame...I'm hoping that brings the price up to fix it up.

Otherwise...I'm stuck. After it's fixed, there is no way I'm keeping it. And if the buyer runs a vin check or carfax...They'll know about the damage....Instantly the value of my car goes south.

The kind of people that buy Porsche Turbos...aren't exactly the folks looking for a deal and settle for 10k less on a previous heavy damage vehicle...

Where the heck are the victim rights??? I don't even know why I buy insurance anymore...

Glad to hear your alright Chris....Very sad for the TT, if you pay for the repairs yourself, no carfax problems(But you would be lying to a fellow Porschephile), but I would imagine it would be too expensive. If you compared your outlay to fix vs. the insurance co. and the lesser amount you would get on selling because of the accident, you would still be ahead going the insurance co. route. I hope they total it for you if there is frame damage. Go through the Porsche dealer to have repairs made and make sure their body shop has a good reputation and will only use genuine Porsche parts, especially for the parts you can't see...

Best of Luck..
