Newbie

Hello everyone,

I am a newbie to the Forum, and to a 03 996 TT aswell. Car has been excellent. Any suggestions on how I should start to make the car faster? Financially I would have to take this slowly.
The car is currently 100% stock. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

First few things to consider on the car...

Short Shifter (gotta do it)
some sort of ECU flash
diverter valves

Then an exhaust... that'll get you around 500hp and you'll be happy.

Dont' listen to this guy....I once thought I would be happy too if I had 500hp

Once you start down this path, Sharky will be building you a new motor before you know it....The dark side is strong....

First, you should post some pics of the beast. Then we can better advise you on what it needs .
Seriously though, congrats.
Simple, inexpensive things to do to make it faster include, an ecu flash mated to an aftermarket exhaust. Take some time to choose your exhaust and look at the used parts for sale section here for some great deals. That will bring you to stage 2 which is a great place to be. If you spend alot of time on this forum, you will quickly believe that 500hp isnt nearly enough and you will be longing for 700. There is no end to the money you can and will want to spend on your car. Be careful and take it slowly unless you have lots of extra cash or credit
Enjoy it and drive the hell out of it. Thats what it was made for!

Congrats on your purchase and welcome. I started with the B&M short shifter (MUST) and the exhaust. Next will be ECU, Diverter Valves, Wheels/ Suspension. Be careful... it's addictive!

If you're on a budget, the ECU flash should be first. It is the single most "Bang for the Buck" mod out there. It TOTALLY transforms the car.

Then the shifter is one of those "small and cheap ones" you can do.

The exhaust is A LOT of cash for little relative gain so it would be further down my list!

Congrats on your new ride!
