evo intercoolers

just switched my gt2 ics for the new ics from evo. (got mine from sharkwerks) Tod at evo was fast to the draw and got my hoses to me in two days. got the red ones to get a little color , they are lookin good, as far as performance, no acid test yet. but seems to come on faster and less loss between gears only got in it twice....so far i am impressed... have an extra set of gt2 ics

I am in the final stages of the GT700 completion on my GT2 and I am now installing the EVO intercoolers...they are much larger than stock and beautifully built, the stock brackets had to be heavily modified and the body underneath the tail lights as well, cant wait to run the car with these!

Why was there so much modification? Do teh gt2's require more work. When I did mine, all I had to modify was the oem ducts(some trimming), cut a small amount of metal off the body, and expand the size of the hole in the IC bracket.

I thought they were supposed to be a stock replacement with no modifications, what type of metal hacking involved?

You must remove the plastic lip around the oem ducts. Then there is a hole on the bracket which must be drilled out to 3/4 inch, and finally a small amount of metal is removed from the body. Not too much hacking at all. Put it this way if you do this mod and want to go back to stock IC's then you will need new oem ducts.
