996TT to 993TT?
996TT to 993TT?
What's up guys, just wanted to see if anyone ever went from the 996TT to 993TT, ive always loved them and would love to drive one soon, havent been in or driven one and i am very curious! Just thought i would ask, also because in another thread it was brought up that a stg 2 993tt was equal to that of a stg4-5 996tt, found that quite interesting! Also wanted to hear people impressions, pro's and cons compared to each other and what they prefer!
I was checking this 993tt out and fell in love, ive talked to the owner before and so on

Martin I've a 993TT before. Compare stock to stock, 996TT is better car. Forget about the one on ebay. Here is the only one I will consider as upgrade from our stage 2 996TT

If you have never ridden in an aircooled porsche then you need to go do it now. There are few thrills like banging through the gears hearing 6 cylinders of aircooled fury behind you. It is almost as a pure a feeling as driving an e30 M3 or a E36 M3 Evo.

Damm guys haha, thanks for the info, seems like everyone would make the move, but that's what i want to know, WHY would you guys take it. More opinions and info on the 993TT would be greatly appreciated

Just listening to the non turbo 993 my uncle has, and you will understand...you hear absolutly everything going on with the car. the car just sounds and feels so raw it's awsome. I remember when my uncle or aunt use to pick me up from school in second grade, i always knew they were driving their little red car, cause i could hear it a mile away singing it's sweet tune...it's just great....
993TT vs 996TT
I've had both.
If you need a 993TT and want to step forward, then get a RUF 993TT
like the one shown above, otherwise you may find it not torquey enough,
and I believe the novelty may where off soon. It is true they are glorious
to listen to, look at, and drive but it depends on how often.
The 996TT is much less "work" to drive often.

OK I love the 993TT look and sound, but there are several with mods at my track days and I have driven and been in and they seem like more of a speed bump to me at the track, so no Its a performance step backward but very nostalgic. Listen to Woodster he has been there done that and you see what he drives!

That yellow car is hot
