HELP! new sparkplugs installed, WIERD at IDLE!

guys, i actually just finished installing bosch fr6 plugs.
i followed all instructions. i put all of the pieces back except for the bumper ,rear heat shield, and wheels. i started the car to make sure everything is ok. as i rev the engine it seems like the car is idling very wierd and is on the verge of shutting off. the idle is fluctuating. any suggestions. i would appreciate advice asap beacause im trying to resolve this now while the car is apart. what can cause this. When i press the gas hard in N as i climb the rpms the car has a louder woosh to it than usual.

i did not get a chance to test drive the car because it still is on jackstands.

thanks in advance.

Did you reconnect and make sure your intercoolers are hooked up?

Did you plug the Connector back into the drivers side air inlet hose from the intake to the turbo. It is the solid plastic one , not the rubber hoses. There is a pressure plug that connects to the top of it. Kevin

-i took the intercoolers off for the install.
their was an upper hose and a lower one. both are connected properly.

on the drivers side the only thing i disconnected was a plug that comes from the top and has 2 gray pieces on both side to let the plug open. the hose that it gets pluged into goes into the turbos.

that is back in as well.

the intercoolers are reconnected properly i blieve. i mean both hoses are conencted back and all the holes for the screws are aligning perfectly.

when installing i visually made sure that all of the new plugs are gapped like the ones i was taking out. was i wrong here? should they all be .25 ?...i think this is where i am wrong. everything looked equal to me. will a small difference make such a difference?

my freind just got in the car and felt a fluctuation when pressing the gas hard till redline (in nuetral of course) and said it might be a misfire because it feels weird.

the car now idles at around 900 rpm and goes down to 500-800 back and forth...
it shut off once while just idling.

it sounded like it will shut off several times...

im taking it all back out right now...advice needed..keep it coming thanks!

Did you audibly hear a "click" when you re-connected the plugs to the coils? Kevin

Ist most probably the coil packs.. u forgot to hook up the wire to the coil pack and ur running on 5 cyl. I happened to me... Im sure of it...
u see the coils are screwed on the engine so that cant be the problem... its the wire thats is not put into the socket of the coil pack.
I put $100 on this one LOL

Because you hear the sound of air, check your vacuum at idle and at 2000 rpm. It will tell you if you have anything in the intake system disconnected. Unlikely the plugs. Idle problems are generally vacuum or intake leaks.

Did you pull out the rags you used to plug up the intercooler hoses while it was apart? Are you SURE the intercooler hoses are pushed all the way in? Plug gap is about .8mm (.032"). .025" should be OK. At cold idle the air pump runs and may be very loud with the bumper off. If you disconnected the battery that may explain the "hunting" idle as the ECU has to relearn the idle throttle settings. I believe there are 2 vac hoses on the drivers side to reconnect.

took everything apart, and put made sure everything is plugged in and ok. double checked everything twice.

all coil packs are clicked and things seem fine...

now to the bad part: went to test drive the car. as i was in 2nd gear, punched it very lightly, i heard a sound from the back that resembles the sound of a blow off valve.. just a big whooosh.

again, i drove a bit more, and as i accelerated heard another whooosh..coming from the engine.... sounded very awkward.

after these "whooshes" my car shut off a few times at a light or stop sign. throttle responce felt very weird, inconsistent and sluggish.
the whole fluctuation of rpms at idle still exists. No check engline light or any indicator lights.

what can this be???

hey. can you elaborate exactly what to check? just all the hoses?
do you think a hose got a cut or a hole in it while taking things apart, or is it fully blown based on my symptoms.

car is not drivable btw..throttle is very sluggish and car shuts off.
