Questions about an '01 turbo I'm interested in.
I came across a 2001 turbo with 28k miles, its white over full natural brown leather, wood pkg including steering wheel, bose, xenons, and crest in headrest. Its at a dealer offering the cert. warranty. There asking 66k for it, its in really good condition with a slight dent thats really hard to notice right above the black beltline molding in front of the drivers side rear wheel. The paint isn't chipped or scratched. It looks as is the previous owner pulled into his driveway and rubbed it on the curb. I figured I could use it as bargining, because I would personally paint the black beltline to match the car and could have it repaired then. Is the asking price within range or what would you pay for it, also what else should I look for? It was serviced by the dealer which he said he would provide the records. Thank you in advance.
Car does sound nice....except for the wood interior, unless you like it. I had full wood grain, and swapped it all out for carbon fiber. Also since it is an 01, it probably does not have the Bose stereo. As for pricing, I think it sounds fair, maybe a tad on the high side. Also, have the dealership fix the small dent if you buy the car. Best of luck and post some pics if you buy her.
I think natural brown looks great with white. The wood probably would go well with the natural brown, if you like it. Decent price. The CPO warranty is worth about $1500. Maybe you could negotiate the 30k service into the deal as well?
M3CAB, your right, it has the digital audio. Thanks for the quick responses. I'm going to speak to the dealer this afternoon. What does the 30k service include? As for the wood, I was really suprised how nice it looked w/ the brown int. Any more info is welcome!

The spark plug change can easily be $800 on it's own, mainly labor -- cheap for the dealer to include. As M3CAB said, the BOSE didn't come until MY '02.
On the test drive, please check for the "2nd gear pop-out" issue.
Thanks Alpha, what would be the best way to test for the "2nd gear pop-out"? Is this also an issue on '02-'05 turbos aswell?

Here's a link from a quick search on this forum for testing for the 2nd gear pop-out (there are many others):

NYKID - don't worry about the BOSE - it isn't worth the price. I would suggest getting a lower price and have the dent fixed somewhere else - their body shop is expensive, has fixed rates even for sales staff, and all the good guys have their own shop! The above about 30K service is true - get then to do it as a final negotiation to seal the deal.
