We'll, at least we are off the homo stuff and on to the new political agenda. After reading Mark's comments about the GT-2 tuning on the ring I was like WTF, doesn't he know this thread isn't about anything even remotely Porsche or car-related anymore. At least he apologized for breaking up our coherent chains of thought. No take that technical BS and stick it somewhere it belongs. Well let me shift this back into the original topic at hand as I didn't find a single post in here that made a half way decent argument. So I'm going to try to put people who posted here in their places on some of the topics covered 
.
It is obvious that the starter of this post is neither a real driver nor a real automotive enthusiest. You see a real driver is no different than a real warrior. A real warrior can identify an effecient killing weapon when he see's one. The z06 is by no means the fastest/best/best built or whatever car out there but it is a solid performer. But more importantly a real warrior will try to kill you with whatever weapon he has at his disposal and he will take great pride in killing you especially if he does it with a sword that is not as well built/balanced/ and sharp. You see a spineless wimps who pretends to be a warriors will talk about their super hand crafted ultra sharp and expensive sword and focus on that rather then on true meaning of the game which is the swordman ship of a true warrior not the sword they use.
You see while your GT2 may lap nurburg ring sub 7:50 that doesn't mean that you CAN. And based on your attitude I know you wouldn't run anywhere near that time. I for one have driven nurburgring and know it would take some serious serious ***** to the wall skill and bravery to pilot any car sub 8 minutes. Why do I drive a Z06? Cause its the best performing car that I can currently afford (Hey I'm 23 and I came from a family with no money at all earned everything myself) and use as a tool to sharpen my driving thats it. A car is just as tool and nothing more and it doesn't matter how good your tool is if your not a master of it. WHen I master that I will be able to move up and master a better tool such as a GT2 and really appreciate it not only for its raw performance but its craftmanship. You making fun of the z06 is like a warrior making fun of another warrior for his inability to own a better weapon even if his hard earned skills are far more honed then you which of course is a dishonerable chracteristic of a coward. When I see these kids try to chase me around the canyons in their little imports like Corrola's and SR20 powered 240sx's I give them props for trying and I show them the same respect they show me. I have the farsight to see that these kids who are out here honing their skills may one day have the money to afford a better car and will have the skills to master it and embarass any poser. You can't buy skill and that is what it comes down to and where the respect should be given. And its okay if you are a mediocore driver in a high end car as long as you show respect to other drivers who also want to have fun and hone their skills (of course as long as their being as safe as possible). Because you know what who's to say that the guy in the Z06 if he was in your car wouldn't drive circles around you? Are you better than him because you have more money to own a better car? Because thats what your basically saying. He drives that Z06 prolly for the same reason I drive mine. IT comes down to how much you enjoy your car. I enjoy mine tremendously but do you enjoy yours as much as mine? Maybe..maybe not. But lets say I do enjoy my Z06 as much as you enjoy your GT2... what is the problem with that? Am I pathetic for enjoying tremendously my mass produced pile of a GM parts bin?
Now for those who think the Porsche is the end it all of cars than again you are not car enthusiests either. You see the porsche is a damn good balance of performance, build quality, prestige, and price. But it is not the best any any particular catagory, its a good middle ground car of all the above (if not the best).
To the majority of the masses a GT2 is no different in prestige than a plain jane run of the mill Carrera with some extras. Sorry if you dont' believe this but it simply is the case from my observations and trust me it upsets me as much as you owners. And living in the LA area I'm sure most of you will agree that there are many carrera's rolling around. It's also obvious (I think to everyone here) that a Diablo/Murcialago parked next to a GT2 makes a GT2 look like a regular car to the masses (who know nothing about cars). We won't even talk about those cars parked next to Zonda's/Konigseggg/Enzo's/F50's/Saleen S7's which I think even the Carrera GT's styling is just to tame to compete with. Bottom line is when it comes to Marque name Porsche can't hold a candle to Ferrari no matter how hard Porsche tries.
Performance wise the GT2 is very good. But its only good for a stock production car. Its obvious that properly setup tuner cars will run circles around it like 1000hp gutted skylines with full suspension that sweeped all sorts of racings series' around the world so badly they had to change the rules to make other cars competative. Also the kit car class of cars such as an Ultima GTR can be made to outperform the Gt2 easily. Ultimately the GT2 makes body/design compramises in order to keep a degree of marque recognition. Now that the carrera GT is a damn good stock car and I'd say for once that porsche has really stepped up to making of the worlds fastest track cars. But of course an AWD car in the wet will destroy it and who's to say wet performance isn't any less important than dry performance for people who lives in parts of the world where it rains most of the time. Also certain cars are better for certain tracks so just cause the GT2 may run so and so time at Nurburgring doesn't mean it will run a similar time on a slower track with tighter more transitioning turns. THe upcoming EVO MR which will be in the mid to low 30's or the Lotus Elise/Xiege which is low 40's will wipe the floor with the GT2 on certain tracks that are better suited for them. Also the handling feel of a lighter car such as an Elise may be prefered by drivers. Just as the power band and torque response of a big v8,v10,v12 naturally aspirated engine may be preffered to that of a small turbo charged 6 cylinder which has almost no throttle snap torque at all. So as you can see the whole handling/feel thing is kind of a BLUR that is not quite clear cut and highly subjective. THat is why any real racing team sets up the car completely different from track to track as there is no one configuration that will make the most of the car everywhere.
Build quality wise the porsche is also good overall but it's not good at any one particular thing. For example it doens't have the bullet proof engine of a Supra which has made near 1000hp to the wheels on a completely stock bottom end. Nor does it have the bullet proof 1200rwhp on nitrous and slicks holding power of the Supra's getrag (which Titan's car went more than a full season with) which is quite sturdy with its straight cut gears and super beefy synchronizers. The interior is not nearly as nice as a 575M or a Aston Martin either so its not really excelling there either. Actually, prior to the 996's porsches had some of the worst interiors of any sports car on the planet bar none! Neither does it have the maticulously perfected fit, finish and cut of a Honda NSX body which is put together with robotic levels of precission.
