Raced an M5 last night

Just got my car back last night after 1 month without it . I see something coming up pretty fast behind and to the right and quicky recognize angel eye headlights. I figured it was a 540 or something but he pulls past a bit revealing quad tips and the M5 badge. It was pretty dark out but i was think it was one of the previous generation ones. He took off I and I followed, catching him pretty quickly. Then we more or less lined up and did a roll from 85 to 140. I pulled on him but not as much as I thought I would, maybe 8 CL's. We then just kinda hung together for 7 or 8 miles going way too fast for the 101, cops everywhere it seems. He gave the big thumbs up before exiting. Fun time.

Stock E39 M5 was not that fast?? Thats result more like E60M5 with P500 mode

With your mods, 8 cars lenght is about right if he is with P500 instead of P500 sport. I've run with my brother's E60 M5 and I know the result. If the M5 in P400 sport mode, even a 997C2S can smoke it in highway. We have try this before.

A stock E39 M5 will not play with you. He must have had some mods and wanted to test them. There is no comparison between the two cars if they are both stock.

I should know.

It is not a fair competition. So what is the big deal? It doesn't take much skill to step on the gas on the Fwy.

There's no speed/power difference between P500 and P500S. The only thing sport mode changes is the throttle responsiveness.

Im not sure any change of power, I've run with my brother's M5 over 20 times with my TT, Gallrado, stock TT, 997C2S. There is huge speed different in P500 and P500 sport. Do the search, I've post some videos of the runs.

According to BMW:

P400 = 400HP

P500 = 500HP

P500 Sport = 500HP with increased throttle sensitivity.
