With gas prices for 91 octane in Calif costing $2.50/gallon, is it worth it to pay $5.00 per gallon for 100 at the local 76 station. I have a stock GT2. Well except for the Techart exhaust. Opinions?

Actually, I have seen the 100 Octane as low as $4.40 recently. Given the fact that even our 91 Octane is crappy, it makes the 100 Octane look like a bargain.

If you really want to utilize the benefits of 100 Octane, get a chip where you can switch between 91 and 100. I bet you could see another 50hp easily just with minor boost and ignition advance.

I'm reluctant to reprogram the ECU on the GT2. maybe the '04 program. I think that I will stick with 100 octane. whats an extra $40 every week ot two anyway?

Richard,

I go to the 76 on San Vicente and Bundy to fill up on some 100 octane mixed with 91 and the car runs sooooo much happier.

I usually do about 1/3-1/2 tank of 100 and the rest 91. You will definitely notice the difference.

Cool. Maybe I'll run into you sometime over there.

Hoping to meet a cool Supra owner, unlike these other ricers up north.

Well, I do not consider myself a "ricer" by any stretch of the imagination. So, hopefully I fit the description of 'a cool Supra owner'

I will keep an eye out for you...

I just buy a 55 gallon drom and put it in the garage, then use a hand pump to fill op half tank. I live a 7000 feet so any thing is better than 91. AZ is 2.16 a gal for 91

Tyson,

Looks like we will meet at that 76 it's right around the corner from my house. We should just make a copy of the key to the pump for ourselves.

For most normal cars you would need to advance the timing in order to take advantage of the higher octane. Because the P car adapts, will it do this automatically? I think it does.
