It was driven by a pro racer who was born there, but still!"Monster" is overstated, you and a couple more here have since redefined that word.
Adam, HP Lieb certainly drives, his son has the same genes! If you can convince him to bring the RT12 to Dubai from Bahrain on April 6th, I promise a very interesting track sprint challenge day, Protomotive, RUF, and many other, you are all welcome before the Bahrain opening, it's on the way
Jean,
Is the Porsche driver Marc Lieb Hans Peter's son??
If so, that is amazing!!!
I rode around the new track at Porsche Leipzig in a Carrera GT with
Marc Lieb driving and that "kid" can drive like NO ONE I have ever seen!
Cool stuff.
BTW, Levino will be in Bahrain for the Ruf opening (and has spent alot of time
with HP), you guys need to hook up!
Sorry for the O.T. guys,
sincerely,
Marty K

Marc Lieb is a bit more than just fast
Here are a few of the achievements of this Porsche werks driver:LMES GT2 Champion
FIA GT2 Champion,
Winner 24h Le Mans GT2 class
Winner 24h Spa GT2 class
The one driving yesterday was HP Lieb, his father, who is RUF test driver, and is as fast as his son, only a bit older

The Italian and I are hooking up indeed.

For years I've run into this kinda stuff with idiots clearly NOT understanding what some are capable of.
Ignore the idiots and continue to impress the rest of us with your engineering feats!

The overall package of an RT12 is in a different stratosphere than some
of the cars we are assembling (including my own). We all have different
goals and our cars performance path is a reflection of that. I will say there
are "board peer pressures" also; as an example, I would have never thought
of drag racing my 996TT but I may do it once with the Viper club just to
shut them up a little bit (sophmoric maybe). Last year after a long hiatus
from the Local Porsche club, I went thru the driving school and tracked my
car on a very high speed track many times (300-500 miles of track driving:
2 sets of tires, pads), and it is the most fun I can have in my Porsche street
car!!! These cars are so capable in so many ways that it is astounding. Sorry for the rambling, it is so amazing the way these cars are able to take
a pounding and still be reasonable daily drivers.

I'll step back to my usual lurking, having clearly 'stepped in it' with this...

how come we don't ***** that it costs $15 to 25 K to make a Euro ferrari legal to US specs? Does that mean EURo specs are less stringent? I do know that alot of Euro cars... including the CGT P car had major problems passing US safety rules... what's up with that? I heard that that's why they discontinued production.
doesn't make any sense to me. I wonder if companies liek RUF and 9FF, when they make the one offs have full TUV compliance... or are they excluded under some loophole.

We arent always going to agree, how much fun is it when we all say "YES, i agree". As long as we all keep to out heads and be cool.
Thx. Still getting legs.

PS I try not to post what I wouldn't say to someone across a table sharing drinks... keeps the conversation more civil. It is an interesting way to think of forum communications I think.

I believe the US has more stringent crash testing regulations in most caes. In some cases, it's also smog related.

Mark, you also can pay a bunch when you take a US car to Europe. It just has to do with local regulations, something like a tail light of colour of a light bulb can become a nightmare, I deal with this a lot since I am quite "international" with my cars
Some of the Europeans tuner cars are not TUV legal as well for sure. The TUV is however more stringewnt when it comes to testing advertised results and how they are measured, other than the smog, emissions, reliability aspects of it alone.
Not really a point that has much merit or worth debating to be honest, if you can pass your local country's inspection, that's the only thing that matters IMO.

Which track did you guys lap? I am a big fan of the club circuit (with a N/A car). Have to wait until the fall to go back to Bahrain though .. weather is going to start getting much hotter soon.
