Head & Neck Restraint Sytems with GT3 seats
I was reading the HANS owner's manual and it states that there should be clearance of about 1.5" between the helmet and seat back. In my GT3 seat my helmet touches the headrest.
Then there is the R3 system. The 'wings' seem like they would contact the shoulder pads of the GT3 seats.
Is there anybody in this forum that uses an H&R systme with these types of seats?

I don't have the GT3 seats, but the R3 on the Recaro's in the EVO have just enough curvature (not flat backed) that they "nestle in" the protruding features of the spine.
That, and the padding of the R3 makes it a nice fit
YMMV

Dietz,
Could you post a picture of your Evo seats.
By the way, one of those better drivers I was talking about in the other thread was driving an Evo. Great car. I was sitting in his car which had the Recaro seats. They didn't feel quite as tight as the GT3 seats.
PS: How does a guy whos been a member for two years and participates as much as you have so few posts?

Like I said, really nice car. Incredible value.
The shoulder pad on the GT3 seats press more on the back part of the shoulders. It looks like the Evo seats wrap around on the sides. That's why I'm a little worried that the wings on the R3 might not work with my seats.
Hopefully someone at the next track day I attend will have one that I can try on for size. Unless someone on this site has tried them, that might be my only way.

I just ordered mine R3. You'll need Type B for the GT3 seats. You can order the regular strap on or the new in-seat type where it hook onto the harness so you can leave it hanging when not in use.
