Why does it snow right when I get my Turbo?

It's just not fair! I waited years for this, and just spent about 20 hours driving it back from Texas to Fairfax. Now I want to drive it some more, but I don't think I'd even get halfway out of my development. Grr!!

Anyway, I've been here for awhile but usually just lurked in the darkness since I didn't even have a 911 until last year, despite being an enthusiast since birth (Dad had 2 911s in the driveway when I was born - and child seats in the backs, right by the engine: the sound of an air-cooled 911 is burned into my brain).

Looks like I have one of the first 500 cars, right? Given the bumperettes up front? What does this mean, as a consequence? Do I have solid wheels instead of hollow?

I know what they say about this thread being useless without pictures, so here goes Snapped in the parking lot of the Garland, TX Wal-Mart.

There are more, but these are big enough for now

It snows because God has a sense of humor.

You're lucky he's not the only one!

Second question: who here is near the D.C metro area? I know there are a few... Speak up, especially if you have a non-OEM exhaust. Need to start sampling those

Hey man, glad to see you made in back in 1 piece! The early vin means you've probably got solid spoke wheels like you said, and those bumper warts.

You can hear a bunch of exhausts at our next meetup, whenever that is. I've got the fabspeed loud, George has the fabspeed moderate, Gunthers got the Milltek, and KJ has the Remus. That should be a good start.

My mom drives her 2005 996TT all year round. Last year, your not going to believe this, she plowed a path thru the snow so my dad could get his E320 out of the garage and driveway. It did a pretty good job since it sits so low. Yes, she does have snow tires. These cars are ment to be driven all year that is one of the reasons for AWD.

Pretty funny. My car was just delivered from Texas on Thursday. I'm right near you in Maryland. I got to drive mine for two days and now this 'effing snow comes back again.

Hey guys the snow gives you a change to hand wash and wax the car outside and detail it by hand inside so you can get to know it.

At least, that's what I keep telling myself until the snow and ice up here in Connecticut disappear.

We did quite well most of this winter here in NY, excepting these past 2 weeks. I was able to get out yesterday morning for a run to keep things fresh. Hang in there as next week is March and there's many months of good driving ahead.

Wow, sucks to be you guys. It was 75 and sunny here today I was torn between taking the cab or the bike today. Now I know why I don't live in New England any more.

that's one good thing about living in SoCal...no weather issues which prevent me from driving the TT!
