Popularity of Europipe Exhausts....???
This is an interesting thread. I did a lot of shopping around and listened to a few cars with different exhausts. I really liked the sound of the Fabspeed Med/moderate exhaust. I was happy with the power gain, but I love how aggressive my car sounds screaming down the highway. I don't think its too loud with normal driving. I use my cellphone and my wife loves driving in my car. Sure its a lot louder than stock, but it sounds sweet! I'll admit it took me awhile to get used to the new sound, but i'd never take it off unless someone can make it sound like a CGT!
I've had an EP Loud II for six months now. It takes a while for the muffler to 'bed in' after which time you will notice some 'drone' when cruising. But it is labelled a 'loud' muffler to begin with. Different strokes for different folks. Its a well built system without doubt.
When I mentioned PSI to Stef @ Europipe, he almost bit my head off.
Kevin (above) is correct and the most knowledgable guy in the US about
Europipe. He is a great distributor for them. I am very curious to see
for the first time some very high horsepower cars with EP's on them.
I told my tuner (Todd @ P), I love the sound and non drone of my EP
and we are anxious to see what power it will make with it on there.
Good luck!

I've been in a lot of different cars with lots of different aftermarket exhausts, I know exactly what "drone" is, and anyone who says the EP2 Loud doesn't have any is flat out wrong.
With that said, it is so so so minor that you'd have to be particularly sensitive to that sort of thing to notice it, let alone be bothered by it. Some people are, some people aren't... sort of like DLP rear projection televisions, some people see the "rainbow effect" and it drives them nuts, others have no idea what they're talking about. I've had my EP2 Loud for years and I love it.

We will of course default to you from now on

What is this nonsense? I've never seen a "drone-meter" or "drone noise tester". "Drone" is a completely subjective and personal term, with no basis in objectivity. What is "drone" to one person is music to another. All exhausts make noise - stock or otherwise - get used to it. A Lexus SC400 owner probably thinks the stock TT exhaust "drones".
Go listen to a bunch of exhausts and choose the one that fits your tastes. Don't listen to these moronic comments about any imaginary "drone".

I was actually worried about "drone" after reading all the various posts on the board about it. I went as far as to hunt down a car I could ride in with said "drone". The guy who owned the car was like "you hear that, that drone", and I was thinking "yeah, it sounds sweet!".
One persons trash is another one's treasure....

Feast your eyes boys. This is a prototype Stef calls the Europipe XXL. I call it the Bazooka. This is my second Europipe. I previously had an EP2L. What a swwet exhaust thay was. I recieved an e-mail update every day or 2 showing pictures of the progress as Stf hand crafted this beast. It is the same weight as stock, but has 1/4 the backpressue of stock and 1/2 the back pressure of the EP2L. Stef and Herman are a class act. I would never consider using anything but Europipe. I'm glad to hear they are seriously considering a regular production system beyond the EP2L. FYI, Kevin @ Ultimate Motorworks is the exclusive Europipe distibutor in North America AFAIK.
Witness, the Bazooka.....

I know once you get up to and over the 700hp level, that the exhaust
restriction is a limiting factor in adding more HP. Has there been any data
on the hp limits of this system?
I love the deep sound of my EP2L and don't want to go to a straight pipe
set up. However... if I could keep my sound and increase the HP that
would be perfect!

Zippy is right except Stef told me they dont have distributors in the US for Europipe. THey just sell to companies and individuals. So Kevin is not the US distributor for I can name 3 including Sharkwerks that are also "distributors". thanks guys. Call Stef if you dont believe me. thats what he told me.
