Car in for service for 1 to 2 weeks!!!

Yikes. I just got a call from my service manager and he says that I need a new tranny (CPO) and that my slave cylinder is bad! It will be until Friday or Monday for them to open the tranny and maybe 3 more days after that to repair it.

I got the car 2 weeks ago! Man that is going to be hard!

Can you get a CPO once you purchase a car from a private seller or even a warranty?

Sorry to hear about the new car!

Good luck with the repairs. Yep, good thing it was a CPO.

May i ask where you purchased your car from and where you brought it for the CPO'd service. I am asking because i was seriously considering a 01-02 996tt and was worried about that problem(read about a lot of "pop out" issues) and any other out of warrantied parts. I currently own a B7 Audi S4 fully under warranty and its a big step to take on such a monster as the 996tt.
Thank you

01s are notorious for slave cylinders giving out.. the seals just get old and go. I suspect 02s will start having that too. Since it's an 01 make sure they change the spark plugs and check the coolant expansion tank. That leaks/cracks too often...

Agreed. I just had my 01's slave cylinder replaced. I was reading archived posts from another forum today, and it seemed every '01 owner chimed in to say he or she had the same thing done... Anecdotal, but hey, what isn't?

What does it usually run, out of curiosity? I only know what I paid..

Damn... I am up to 3 weeks now.

Bad clutch slave was making a squeaking rubbing sound and feel when you got it almost to the floor board.

I don't think you can get a CPO without buying it from a dealer.

You can get CPO one of two ways: 1) buying a CPO car from a dealer and getting a 2yr warranty balance, or 2) buying a CPO car from a private party and getting the remainder of its balance. I've done this before, as both buyer and seller. It's painless. 1-800-PORSCHE

True, you can pick up the remainder but it sounds like these guys have nothing right now. Once you own a car with no warranty I think it is nearly impossible to get it. I could be wrong. I know if it is less than 15 months old you can get coverage from Geico.
