Mr EDS4 is right, just under $90 or even at $80-4 is a better deal...

Park Place in Bellevue Washington has a Black on Black 2002 GT2 996 Turbo at 20k miles, asking for $100K... I was told from the PCA of PNW guys that it was a RIP OFF! I almost got it thinking it was a steal for me as well, those guy profile my @ss and didn't even bother to lower the price, telling me, $100k is non neogotiable, and at that price, they would loose money, not me, ohhhhhh BTW, I have three other people coming in to look at it today (typical Saleman BullSh*t).

100K for an 02 w/ 20K is about right, maybe a touch high, but only if the car is in perfect condition. I would also expect that it had never been tracked.

For 100K you should be able to get an 02 w/ a bit less miles.

If the car is in good shape I would offer them 95.

Why don't you look at the 03 in my previous post. It is an 03 w/ 8.5K miles for 110K. That is a good deal.

I can't help but mention the incredible depreciation of the 180k 2006 Mercedes S65. You can buy one with less than 10,000 miles on it for low to mid 90's... Most of these cars still have several years left on the warranty also unlke the 01/02 GT2's u guys are dicussing... Crazy!
Three weeks ago I sold my Seal Grey Turbo S cab with 9,100 miles and 19inch champion wheels for 105K and I thought that had depreciated quickly. (Thank goodness I was the 3rd owner) It was sold to a guy in NY.. Anyone here??????????

Wow, you guys are kind of all over the map on this. But it sounds like everyone would agree that a CPO 02 GT2 with 30k miles for $100k is a bit on the high side.

Hey, I have some really dumb questions:

What does a GT2 have in it for a sound system? Why are there bins where I would expect to see speakers?

Is the car too low to take to a car wash? Don't laugh, but I would honestly prefer that, and it makes ownership so much more convenient. I live in aneighborhood with a pretty high quality car wash. I see nothing but German cars there all day long.

Please don't flame me for beeing a Porsche newbie. I'm doing everything I can to learn more.

Thanks guys.

I was just in Oakland Porsche the other day looking at that car, 100k is too much car doesnt have any options and high miles. I was looking at a GT2 a year ago with 15k miles club sport options with a cage carbon interior GT3 seats for 105k. Offer them 90k its the end of the month they might take it. Good luck

I called yesterday to see if they would do $90k. They said no.

But honestly, is a $10k difference too far apart?

If you take a GT2 to a car wash machine then you absolutely have no business owning one. Shame on you for even thinking such a thing.

The OEM stereo on my 02 was absolute junk. But it is Porsche racing, not Porsche audio. I dropped 5K on my system.

Nothing like real data points in a discussion like this. I paid $95K for a 12K mile 2002 GT2 not long ago. Car has some track miles but meticulous maintenance and documentation. Hard to find any cosmetic flaw on it inside or out. Runs like a rocket. New tires. Everything works. I am sure $90K would not have taken it. In restropect I don't think I got a super deal, but pretty typical of market. I offered $105K to couple of GT2 owners asking $120K+ for 7K mile cars, because that's where I think the market is. I inquired about an 18K mile CPO car with hopes they would take under $100K. They would not budge (and they still are advertising). I just missed a 10k mile never-tracked, heavy-optioned car for about $106K. Maybe others will share personal data? I am hoping the sheer rarity of GT2 will stabilize the value.

Good luck on your decision.

I paid 100K for my heavily upgraded GT2 (except for the EVO IC's and the stereo). It had only 3K miles on it at the time (3.5 months ago). However, I got the car from a very good friend and hence the excellent deal.

That sounds like a great deal. I need friends like yours. Closest to that I ran across was a Ruf-transformed GT2 with 25K miles for low-$90s. Impressive car, but I tend to favor minimal mods. Personal preference.

Rob King does your mods, right?

C'mon guys. I've been taking my BMWs to a local carwash for years. Granted, it's not your run of the mill carwash; they cater to a high-income crowd. Anyway, after all these years, my paint is impeccable. No swirls at all. And I see nothing but high-end German cars in this place all day long, all of which look amazing. The beauty is that I have an annual pass, so I can take it there as much as I like. In 15 minutes, the car is sparkling.

I'm still curious. Is a stock GT2 too low for a carwash?

299-304 from 02-05 depending on who you ask. These are North America #'s. Most were silver. 5-7 were built in 05.
