67K for an 02 GT2 is definately a scam, unless it was all track miles (a possibility). Martin and I were in the GT2 market recently and we know the prices.

Now to the OP, w/ 36K I would definately try and get the owner of the car down to 96, but lower is unrealistic.

I've driven this car. It drives great, light, powerful, not tired. I have a 02 GT2 now and a 02 Turbo before that. Feels quicker than mine. It also has a short shift kit in it. Chipped?

Talk to Perry or Paul they know Porsches. If it has a warranty, why not?

Do you know the prior owner, or did you take it for a test drive at the dealer? Do you know anything else?

Thanks man!

Perry let me take it for a drive. My GT2 has some handling issues, thus I wanted to compare this car to mine. I only know that it has been there for 4-6 months...I think the price started at 119K

Seems like a good car to me...but I'm not an expert.

Well I would of too a year or so ago but having just moved here from the UK where GT2 and TT prices have been in freefall since the introduction of the 997TT, although they are stabilizing now slowly. The GT2 and 996TT prices have started to intertwine and I'm sure that will start to happen here too. Plus the GT2 has a lot smaller market appeal than a TT, there is some "widowmaker" reputation attached to it too that pushes a lot of people towards the TT (not me it was just price ) so until ALL the GT2's are in the hands of enthusiasts like us I think prices will continue to fall, even more so when the 997 GT2 is on the streets.
I can certainly appreciate your attitude towards low pricing for GT2s I feel the same way, if one person is willing to part with a GT2 for $60k's then other people in the market are going to hold out for a similar price, which will slow the market, which can only lower prices even further.

Ok, so if I could grab a GT2 in the low $80s, should I do it? Or do you guys expect that sub-$80s will be common soon? I'm planning to look at one today, so a deposit is a possibility.

Porsches and GT2/3s are notoriously sensitive to alignment. A bad alignment will wreak havoc on your handling.

Obviously YES, but who knows the history or what's wrong with the car, you know the old addage, if its too good to be true, then its..... yea goodluck though, if its clean and no stories that's insane!

BTW to the guy with the handling issues, what kind? I heard a few were brought back to Porsche and lemond for suspension problems but didnt know what kind of issues there were!

I found a 2002 CPO GT2 with 7k miles at a local dealer. $89k. I woke up this morning with every intention of checking it out and possibly buying it. I even put my title in my car, just in case. On the way, I called and found it had already been sold. But ther was a story. Apparently, on the way to get it smogged, the dealer spun it. So they re-shot it. I'm not sure how much such an incident would affect the price, but if the damage had only been cosmetic, it wouldn't have stopped me.

Oh well.

The reality is that dealers, like the Chicago Motors jent who sponsors on this forum, will pay around 100K (and then turn them for 25 grand more) for any good quality low mileage GT2. I have seen it happen over and over again.https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ad.php?t=78339
or https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ad.php?t=76419
Just the other day I saw him offer 115K for a low mileage 03 (w/ significant upgrades...it was similar to my car) and the seller turned him down. Prices have dropped, but not as much as the rumors suggest.

Those of you that think a GT2 can easily be snatched up for an unrealistically low price are living in a fantasy land. That is why I always ask for proof, and it always turns out to be an unsubstantiated story. If you really can buy one on the cheap then do it and post pics.
