EVO ·Stage 2· Clutch AF vs. Stage 3· Clutch
Hey everybody,
I need to change my OEM clutch and I am thinking which could be the best option.
Money wise EVO ·Stage 1· Clutch will be ok with my Stage 4, but maybe for a bit more I can get so much more??
Thus, is the EVO ·Stage 2· Clutch AF noisy, louder than EVO ·Stage 1· Clutch?
if so, could be better to get Stage 3· Clutch for less noise and good for ++ hp?
Last, it is a difference on the drivability between Stage 1, Stage 2· Clutch AF and Stage 3?
Regards
Pierre

the Stage 2 is the perfect clutch if you plan to hang out around 600hp. it's easier to use than stock and holds fine. i loved it. (i'm also selling mine - see sig.)
i think i have either the Stage 3 or 4 right now. it is not fun. it clamps like hell and it might give you whiplash, but it's not fun for tooling around the city. you have to concentrate w/ it.

Sounds like a noisy throw out bearing. This is inherrent with the AF.
I have a stage 2 p plate & disc with < 5K miles for Sale.
$800 including shipping in US.
I went from stock to Sachs level 2 with my EVO 600 upgrade (stock couldn't hold), and moved up to Sachs level 3 with my GT700 upgrade. Level 2 was super easy and smooth, level 3 bites when going from stop to go in first, so I have found that by revving to about 2,000 rpm's, then easing out the clutch faciliates controlled driving in city traffic (translation: prevents launching the car into the one in front of me
), and prevents stalling. But level 3 in all other gears and at speed is still easy and exhilarating to drive with 700lb-ft launching you roadward by 4,500 rpm's.
And I kept the stock dual-mass flywheel.

Good thread, subscribing as I'm about to need to do this too...
I want as close to stock feeling as possible so I'll probably stick with the OEM Flywheel but with 600+ I think the stock's days are numbered...

thanks!
I am not planning on a GT700, which will be with internals, until I will have a LOT more miles on my car. Currently just 28k; thus, I think a better option could be the Stage 1 which is the same that Stage 2 but without the FW.
However, still running to my head "stronger clutch" but I have to put the feeds on the ground and realize that here I am using this car as a GT .
I appreciated your info!!

It is very hard to modulate that is for sure!!!
Be careful and be absolutely sure of what you do.
I put in "racing clutch (on/off) ltwt flywheel in my 993TT and it
made if fricking miserable to drive in any kind of traffic. (oh sure it was
great on the track but bad trade off in my opinion). Choose carefully
and talk to your seller and people who have exact set-up.
