BOSCH FR6LDC Spark Plugs?

I noticed most of you guys upgrade to the FR6LDC spark plugs for best performance and longevity.

How much boost are you guys running with these plugs and what sort of lifespan are you getting at those boost levels with these FR6 plugs?

My car is my daily street driver and I run around 1.2-1.3bar max. Of course, the car only sees occassional full boost runs, so I'm wondering if I should go with the FR6's?

I also run an aftermarket Crane CDI ignition system, which allows me to run larger than normal plug gaps (currently run ~0.032").

What diference does the FR6 plugs make over, say the FR5's? Better throttle response? Smoother onset of boost? Longer lifespan?

Observations please?

I'm having the Denso Iridium Double Platinums installed in my car; and my high boost setting is at 1.3 bar

6's are now what Porsche dealer will give you if you walk in and ask
for plugs. No one runs 5's, end of story.

BKR7E 6097 NGK copper for high horsepower apps. Lowered my AFR also. I will NEVER use a 6 step plug for over 600hp (6 is stock). one step colder. thanks IMO

Suman,

just to clarify: Do you run 5's ?? Is this what EVOMS recommends or do
you find it worked out better?

thanks,

marty they are the same as the 5's in coldness but NGK is a better plug in my car. Try it out. FR6 is the stock plug. I cant run a stock plug with this kind of power. regapped or not. one step colder lowered my afr and the car felt like it spooled quicker. try it out. 1000hp supras use this copper plug.

Marty,

Todd recommended PK20PR-P8 (double platinum)
(6) for $51.41 including shipping @
sparkplugs.com

I have < 300 miles on my change, and they are great.

Thanks guys. My car puts out somewhere between 550-600HP, and I've just started running FR5DTC's (triple electrode, 0.8mm gap) in it. I'll see how it goes for a while, but if I still seeing excessive fouling, I may move one heat range up to the FR6's.
