Great write-up Joe - I've been contemplating this myself and you're giving me courage to make a run at it.

Thanks for putting this in print for me to follow - much appreciated.

I did the RWD (non removal) myself and it feels like the car lost some torque, maybe it's just the surge of the AWD that's feels lacking, I'm going to see if it traps the same at the drag strip, it not I'm going back to AWD. It does turn better but there is still quite a bit of understeer present, some new tires will help that.

I understand the PSM still works fine w/RWD...as I believe it is actuated through brakes system.. 76LBS that's about 7.5 hp added to whatever was regained through no longer having to run power through the AWD. Be interested to see more posts of how people like the switch.

About 4 1/2 hours from start to finish (not including the 4hrs in the hospital for a piece of metal to the eye)Be careful when breaking apart the cv joints...wear eye protection.

Joe,
that is brutal, that sounds like when I got in a fight with a Christmas tree that my wife bought that was WAY to big and lost---pierced my Cornea to
add to the fun...

Can anyone be kindly enough to tell me how faster can the RWD conversion run from 100-200 compare to the same 4WD car?

What is the difference for TTi to convert compare to manual?

Regards

Good write up.

I am curious about this mod, what are the main benefits?

weight loss and a bit more BHP?

I came from a RWD car (track prepped Z3M Coupe) and loved the way it drove but I am not sure about doing this mod as I can get my TT to oversteer nicely anyway without the PSM on.

How long have people been doing this mod? and has there been any negatives?

Sorry for any niavety, I have not had my TT long and been modding it even less.

Thanks
