Compared to Stage 3 cars with bigger turbos? From the Upsolute nubmers I've seen posted on their site it's more comparable to other tuners' Stage 2 packages with the stock turbos. What #s are you looking at?

Maybe the "other guys" just automatically do something to the ECU software so that the lights never come on?

BCS996TT is infamous around these parts
David L has a custom upsolute ecu, GT1 turbos, custom intercooler, exhaust and DVs and is running well into the 600HP zone without any issues. If I am correct, he has had it for a while and is very impressed with the setup. His program is a 1.2 bar application.

Mark....maybe that's what we need to do...upgrade our turbos!

Upsolute numbers are very strong...look at StephenTi, Myself and a number of other guys with just exhaust and ecu... roughly 525-550 FWHP. That's stage III territory.

limitup,
Bill is right, an Upsolute equipped car with exhaust/cats and intake will be very close or equal to a stage 3 car. Claimed HP from the "other" companies is 550hp. Upsolute cars have dynoed in that exact same range....
Anyway, I really don't think the peak HP number tells the whole story. My main concern now is how Upsolute is reaching those numbers with the stock turbos at only 1Bar? Maybe they're "pushing" the timing to bump the output??

... or running really lean, but I'm sure we would have heard about motors blowing up by now if that was the case no?

I don't know enough to say, but it sure is interesting. Would be curious to hear what the other tuners have to say, but I guess it's hard to talk about your competitors in a public forum and that's understood. Has Upsolute ever offered any explanation or specific information as to why their chip seems to make more power than others?

Sending code over the internet can be a problem without adequate validation. Just doing a checksum is not enough. I work in the health care industry and without proper documented validation that the bits are in the right order will result in a deviation observation by the FDA. So the possibility exists that in some cases for some people the code can be slightly corrupted and that is why it works for some and not for all. Re download sometimes works so it can be like 1to 5% problem, just a thought

You are correct Limitup. In my eyes, it is a no win no win. I like to tell people there are lots of choices and that is always good.
