One Lap Of America - We're off to a good start
Maybe not as good as Brian Smith who is our primary competition every year. He won the first three events outright.
We're in second place overall with a 60 point deficit going into day 2. Tomorrow will be at Mid America Motorplex. We performed well there last year. Hopefully the same will be true this year.

We just got in to our hotel. Not going to get much sleep tonight...
Today was crazy. We went out on a wet track and thought we would place pretty high. Then it dried out and we all got smoked by a Honda minivan! I'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow if I can. I've got a few but I have not had much time to snap pics.
Brian Smith seems to be in a league of his own this year. His Viper isn't as powerful as in the past two years but it's got a broad spread of power and he's got the suspension and tires dialed in. Unless he makes a tragic mistake or has a mechanical failure we're going to be racing to stay in second place.
Leh Keen finished 24th which is going to hurt their points pretty bad.
I think we're going to be fighting off Luke and Doug in their 2600lb 475 whp Super Subaru.
There was supposed to be two events today but due to the weather (tornado warnings, flooded race track, torrntial downpours) we only ran 1 event. The transit to get here to Utah was pretty grewling. We bought a bicycle and a bike rack today so Mark has something to ride on his "track walk". I'll have pics of it tomorrow. It messed up our aero so bad we had to start modifying it to get decent fuel economy. We lost at least an hour messing around with it. We drove through snow in eastern Wyoming and then in western Wyoming had to plan cat and mouse with a police cruiser at what I can only call speeds exceeding prudence. We were able to hunker down and vanish from him. Our ticket count is still zero.
Ok I smell and I need sleep. More tomorrow if we get a hotel!

Good luck with OneLap. I have to commend C&D and TireRack for putting together a fun, competitive event that promotes responsible actions. Unlike the Gumball fiasco that take place every year.
Day 3
Miller Motorsports Park
We've never seen this place. The other top guys have all been here. And BTW several of them of pro or semi pro drivers, not just a couple of autcrossers from New England like us.
Brian Smith smoked everyone in both events today. Leh Keen was second in both events. Luke Russell's Subaru had a mechanical failure.
We were 4th in the morning session and amazingly 3rd in the afternoon session! Mark wasn't even able to walk the course for the afternoon session so the first time he saw it was when the cars went out for their single recon lap!
We've been chasing the setup of the car since Day 1 due to lack of testing. After several calls to Angelo at Anze Engineering we made several damper adjustments and a tire pressure adjustment and we think we've got it dialed in now.
Kudos go to Mark for an unbelevable drive in the afternoon session. He really pulled out all the stops and beat Aaron Pfadt by 8 seconds! Aaron is an instructor at MMP! Awesome drive.
OK time for sleep now. We've got Pueblo Motorsports Park tomorrow, Mark was fast there in 2004. Let's see how we are tomorrow.

Looks like that ill handling Viper took top honors again today.
Congrats on a close 2nd guys, you're getting there.
PMP 1 & 2 you guys traded spots. What was the change up from the 1st to 2nd that made you make up time and caused Brian to lose a second?

I just made a nice long post on this subject and it disappeared
I haven't got the energy to rewrite it now so you'll just have to make do with the fact that we finally got the car setup and Brian had to replace his front brakes making him slower during the second session.
I need some sleep now. More later.
