Car went pop

Ok the car has been stored for 6 weeks with on battery conditioner because it was not possible to use one at the time.
Used a jump pack totart the car although there was enough battery to run electrics.
Drove the car back home did about 7-8 miles at under 3000rpm to warm her up ok. Close to home thought i'd give her a good blast in 2nd, got to 5500rpm 2nd gear and she popped and the engine stalled, I managed to get her to the side of the road, pulled the ignition key and restarted, she started up ok but the CEL is on.
Sound familliar? Any help appreciated, she's going in to Protechnik tomorrow for a check up anyway.

Yep it happened to me too. as long as u dont have Antifreeze spewing that is a good sign. And if you do it still could just be the rubber hoses going around the axles.... $30 fix.

That's a bad sign! You would have wanted it to pop a hose to know exactly what the problem was!

Hope you get it fixed quickly.

hose def. Check the hose from the IC's top and bottom. Sounds like a top hose if you ehard the pop. GL happens all the time. Do you have EVO hoses yet. If not I would look into getting them.

Well it wasn't the MAF & it wasn't the intercooler hoses, CEL light went out when I started the car this morning, gingerly drove it in for a service/oil change and check.
3 codes were logged and basically they were software spikes. The car saw an overpower warning and a DME module failure (which it hasn't) all checked and ok including the MAF......Phew!
