Why don't you guys just stock with facts and dismiss opinions? Who cares about opinions? When it comes to performance, the fact is that a stock C6 Z06 is faster than ANY stock Porsche in a striaght line with the exception of a CGT. Fact is that a C6 Z06 can runt right with and/or outrun any porsche (and has) around a race track with the exception of a CGT. This is, of course, assuming two equally skilled drivers. I can't careless what happens when you have a really good driver in a Porsche against an average, or not so skilled driver in a Vet, or vice versa. That doesn't prove anything. With equal SKILLED drivers, the C6 Z06 is hard to beat and like I said, can run with the best.
If you don't agree or understand that, you are either a) in denial or b) a close minded and a brand loyalist who has a hard time admitting a chevy is this good. Period.

Hey hey, let's just RELAX! If your a car guy, you can't take anything away from the vette! I almost bought one, by the time I got there it was sold
. Now I'm looking at an EVO for an everyday beater
. Most of us buy these cars for there performance period! Look at the bright side we have many choices

Okay I'm going to play along. I think this new z06 is great, no I really do. I've been a vette guy, I've owned 3 of them in my 20's including a modded 95 Zr1 and a modded C5 frc. The part that gets me is that gm has been behind the curve for a long *** time in the arena of true world class performance cars. The point I'm making is this, I could go and buy a new z06 if I wanted but guess what I don't because I can afford a 911 and after owning three of them there is a big quality/realiabiltiy/value difference.
You need to understand one thing the 911 has been kicking the **** out of the best cars in the world in some, way, shape, or form for 43yrs on a global scale, and now you guys finally get something to talk about. Guess what you're late, really, really late. So cherish the moment gentleman as it will not last long. I believe the 997gt2 is due out this fall.
Respectfully,
Lee

Remember there are A-holes that own all types of cars

Guess what Lee....I can afford a 911 and actually own an '03 911 Turbo. I could have a brand new 997TT in my garage as we speak if I wanted to. I don't because the status bullsh!t you subscribe to doesn't mean dick to me. Go ahead and pay the $130K (remember Lee buddy...I can afford one too) for the accutrements that are so important to you while the REDNECK Z06 guy whips your ***. It has nothing to do with what you can afford. If you think that because you can afford a 911 makes you "THE MAN" as opposed to buying something like a Z06, a Viper, etc. then all I can do is laugh at you. You are the guy that buys the Pcar for the status symbol as opposed to buying something for what it is. If you think that hanging out at coffee shops discussing how much money you think you have and bragging about your 911 is important, then have it. I'd rather be pushing my car (which is a Porsche too..but mine doesn't come with the attitude you exude) to its limits and discussing it over a beer afterwards.
Go ahead and think that it is somethig special paying $200K for a GT2 that barely beats a $75K Chevy.

Craig
I guess I'll say it one more time in this thread. The Z06 is a great car with super performance at a great price...
however, I have never run with one in my GT2 that I haven't beaten...badly. Like others have said, it's not even a fair fight. With all of that being said, you geniuses who think that a Z06 (modded or not) can outrun my car, you know where to find me.
All I have done is answer the original post, if my statements offend you, too bad.
