M5 and a turbo are 2 cars worlds apart. One is a sedan and the onther is a sports car...
as yourself how you will use the car and what you want to drive....

If you can arrange a test drive in examples of both cars, take them to a tight, twisty road and fling them around. No doubt the M5 is incredibly competent for a big, heavy car.
But it is a big, heavy car compared to the TT. Drive both and buy the one that puts the bigger smile on your face.

I sold my 2002 m3 to buy my 996tt. I also looked at a 2006 m5, because i use my car as my daily driver. However, i didn't have to have a back seat, so i went with the 996tt-much better looking, a little faster, better handling, more fun to drive, reliable, etc.
If i were you i would get a 996tt with lower miles and preferably 6 speed. There are plenty of cars available.
2003 996tt
2002 x5
2002 m3 (gone)

If you have any concerns about resale value whatsoever, get the Porsche.
The E39 M5's have depreciated like it's freakin' absurd in Europe over the last 2 years - I would bet the E60 would be around 20-25K EUR in 3-4 years as well. Insane, but likely!

Agreed, turbo all the way. I've had S4's M3's etc. trying to make sure i had space if i needed it...and I don't :-) The TT has ample room (specially compared to my roadster) and is the greatest car i have ever been in.
the one that i find is "tippy", and how do i know if i have the K24's or k16 ??
sorry if i put all this stupid questions but i am new in this area :P
i had the m3 smg so i like the tiptronic because i use the car everyday in traffic
